Gameplay
Capture the flag:
Make sure some people stay back to defend the base. If you all just attack chances are you will lose.
Keep going for the enemy flag though, try not to get to distracted killing people.
Capture and Hold
Again make sure about half attack whilst half defend. Try protecting your base with turrets and mines, wearing heavy armour to defend helps too. You must keep attacking though as a team on the defence will always lose in the end.

Defend and Destroy
Use light armor to quickly charge and distract the enemy (also keeps them on the defense) whilst a few heavies get into range with mortars and progressively destroy the enemy base defending turrets first.
Try sneaking in the back with light armor and a shield (which will keep you safe from indoor turrets) and trying to wreck generators. Remember when the enemies power is down outside targets can be destroyed from long range so go for those generators. Keep heavies back guarding your base (close to generators) and a light with a repair pack is handy.

Find and retrieve
Basically the same as capture the flag. Try to leave at least 2 heavies to defend your base and work as a group to capture flags. Send lights to harry the enemy and try to draw them into a fight whilst you’re capturing flags. Always remember flags win games not frags try not to be sidetracked.

DeathMatch
Play for a laugh and to increase your fighting skills. Remember heavies are easy meat in the open, explosions don’t hurt so much if you’re in the air. Shooting people in the back whilst they’re distracted is a good way to get kills but will not help you improve. Stay mobile go for weak targets run if you’re losing but if you’re going to die go out with guns blazing.

Working as a team
Pick a leader before a match. If a leader gives you an order try to obey it. Try to keep at least 2 on attack and two in defense at all times. Other useful jobs are sniper, repairman, and deployables layer. Whoever is leader must remember to keep an eye on the overall picture and must not get too carried away fighting.

General Tactics
Try to work in pairs. 2 on 1’s will usually see the 2 winning time and time again.
I think that snipers however, can work well on their own as it makes them harder to spot and too many snipers is a waste (snipers rarely win games) also repairmen also can work individually although someone should cover their backs if the enemy is close to or in your base.

Try to tell your team mates what is going on i.e. if the enemy is in your base for example
Listen to your commander, this will help you work as a team instead as a group of individuals

If a teammate gets the enemy flag, cover him, throw yourself in front of bullets meant for him as the points he brings the team could win you the game and it does not matter how often you die.

Before the game starts decide who will make the opening rushes at the enemy base and who will start placing defenses. Don’t all charge at the start and don’t all stand around like idiots waiting for the inventory station.

Weapons
Blaster: Pretty shit, only use as last resort or to shot a sniper in the back or a newbie to stupid to fly and avoid it. Can be useful in groups to destroy turrets ( because of rapid fire and unlimited ammo)

Chaingun: Again not too good, useful to shot flying targets or enemies dueling other members of your team as long as they are not too tough. Use at short range as it gets more inaccurate the further the range.
No blast damage so aim straight for the target, on the plus side it doesn’t hurt you at close range

Disc Launcher: Probably the best weapon for one on one dueling, fires an explosive disc quickly at the target. If you’re on the ground and in light armor two hits and you’re dead. Practice, practice, practice with this weapon and your kills will start to mount up. When using this weapon try to judge where your target will have moved to and fire at that (not directly at them). Don’t use at extreme close range unless you want to die too, also quite hard to hit moving targets at long range.

Grenade launcher: Powerful, but not very accurate. Try to aim at large groups of enemy, or it can be useful for against slow moving heavies, with enough practice it can be quite effective for flying over someones head and dropping a grenade on them, but you must be good else the disc launcher is far easier.
Good for if you’re at the top of a hill and someone’s trying to get up after you.

Plasma gun: Very good weapon for indoors. Quite rapid fire (for this game anyway) and packs a meaty punch. Can destroy shielded radars and shielded indoor turrets after enough shots. Almost as effective as the disc launcher in one on one’s. Cause’s splash damage so make sure you don’t kill yourself with it. Recommended for any base trasher.

Mortar: Most powerful weapon in the game hits destroy anything including shielded targets. If you’re in heavy armor take a mortar with you and if you get into range of the enemy base start trashing it. If you’re in the enemy base and about to die then start firing this off and anything close will be destroyed. If you’re shielded you can survive one shot so get amongst some lights and blast one shot in the middle of you all and you could get them all. Not really recommended against personnel unless you some how sneak up on a group of enemies but if you do it’s a killer.

Laser rifle: Great fun. Stand several miles away from your enemy, zoom in and shoot them in the head. One shot will not kill the enemy though so try to go for weaker targets. Useless against shielded targets so don’t even waste your time trying. A clever trick is to fire a disc at an enemy then quickly switch to the laser rifle and just before the disc hits them shoot them in the head. No good at close range

Laser targeter: use to point out targets for someone with a mortar. They aim for the blue triangle and they hit the target. Doesn’t count as a weapon so you might as well carry one. That’s it.

Elf gun: I personally think that this weapon is a waste of time, and far to crap to waste a gun slot with. But apparently it can be useful for draining shields whilst you throw grenades (or a friend shots from afar) and dodge about trying not to get shot. I think two people with blasters or plasma guns or a heavy with a mortar is far more practical though for killing anything . No danger using at short range but you could probably spit further than this gun can fire. I’d leave this weapon at home and drop it straight away if accidentally picked up.

Grenades: keep them with you as you lose nothing even if you don’t use them. Try to drop them on peoples heads when you fly over them or drop them so anyone chasing you hopeful gets blown up chasing you.

Mines: Use mines to guard vulnerable entrances to your base that your team does not use, but please remember that if you mine all your base’s entrances how are you going to get out? And if you mine your flag, tell your team so that when your flag runner staggers back into the base he doesn’t get killed by you. I like leaving mines in the enemies base by stations etc that I have trashed so that there’s a chance of getting the fixer too.

Deployable turrets: Use to protect your base and annoy the enemy outside theirs try to place them so they are out of sight at first as they have very short range.

Armor
Light armor: The most useful type of armor, use for flag running for a speedy get away, use for snipers so you get the laser rifle, use for repairman so you can get around quicker. Basically the superior speed of these guy’s means they kill all other types outside. Normally best used with an energy pack so you can carry a sniper rifle and so you can practically fly forever all across the map. When trying to trash an enemy base used with a shield pack to protect you from enemy defenses.

Medium armor: Most useful for deploying turrets around your base, as lights can’t and heavies are to slow. Apart from that job not really specialized enough.

Heavy armor: If you’re indoors wear this armor as it can take so much punishment. Very useful for trashing an enemy’s base from long or short range, as you need heavy armor to carry a mortar. In this armor you’re pretty vulnerable to lights flying over you shooting you with discs and then flying away before you can hit back, so try to get an escort of a light or two for protection until you get indoors and can start to really hit back.

Vehicles:
Scout: useful to quickly get to enemies base whilst bypassing enemy defenses, with practice missiles are quite effective for shooting people with
Light transport: Use to get team mates across the map quicker, mainly heavies
Heavy transport: Same as light transport.

General dueling tactics:
Ok as I said earlier in the open try to use light armor as you will need the speed to dodge enemy shots, whilst indoors there is not so much chance to dodge so use heavy armor so you can take more hits.
As the disc launcher seems to be the most popular weapon the best way to keep from getting killed is to be moving in the air, that makes you harder to hit and totally negates the splash damage. Try to fly over the enemy and shoot a disc right in his path.

My favorite Dueling equipment is:
Light armor
Energy pack
Disc launcher
Plasma gun
Laser rifle (as I like to be a sniper normally)
(so also use for sniping)

Base trashing equipment (light armor)
Light armor
Shield pack
Plasma gun
Disc launcher
Chain gun

Repairman
Light armor (for speed)
Repair pack (kind of a must)
Any weapons
