Sara is a NYPD Homicide Detective. When she was shot in line of
duty at a Theater, the Witchblade, a medieval magical glove-like weapon of
Unimaginable Power was drawn and bound to her hand like an alien entity. She has been
chosen to be the next wielder of the Witchblade . As the Witchblade surrounds her, she
becomes nearly god-like. Sara then discovered that her wounds were healed instantly and
the surrounding enemies were either slained by the spear-like tentacles of the Blade or
burned by the Blade's HellFire. Sara was unaware of the Witchblade's agenda but later went
on to discover the Blade's numerous abilities in later issues. But will she be able to
tame the weapon for the sake of Humanity??? Well, only Time can tell before the Blade
falls into the wrong hands.
