The Getaway

Items:

    Potion

The team escapes the ruined reactor and prepares to return to their hideout.  But first, Barret commands the team t split up and meet at the Sector 8 Station.  No problem.  The station can't be too far away...right?  Even though Barret said to split up, go ahead and follow Barret off-screen.

What's this?  Looks like a flower girl has been knocked down in the chaos created by the reactor's explosion.  As Cloud approaches, she stops him in hopes of obtaining some information about the explosion.   (Plus, she may even sell another flower!)  Take some time to talk to her.   You don't need to buy any flowers, but, come on, it's only one Gil!   Performing this small deed may even benefit you later in the game.  After exchanging pleasantries, follow the flower girl off-screen and into the counteryeard.

There's not much to do here except talk to a couple of folks and fight a few Guard Hounds.  Make sure you grab the Potion as you move south toward the next area.

As Cloud hits the streets, he encounters a run-in with the law.  You have two options in this scenario:  Fight or Run.   If you need the experience, you should fight, because none of the MPs present much of a threat.

Notes:

You need to make your decision quickly, because taking too much time is virtually the same as choosing to fight.

The first and second groups in this battle consist of MPs in a normal fight.  However, in the third fight, three MPs get the drop on Cloud, forcing or run, Cloud is eventually surrounded and things begin to look bleak.  However, Cloud's SOLIDER skills pay off as he his over a bridge and land on a train headed for the Sector 7 Slums.

This twist of fate reunites the team, but Barret isn't happy about Cloud's dramatic entrance.  Follow the team into the passenger car and talk to everyone.  Jessie takes a moment to explain Midgar's setup and how the trains operate.  It seems the team need fake IDs to get past Shinra's automated security checkpoints.  The checkpoints enable Shinra to quickly locate and apprehend any known felons riding the rail.

The train ride goes smoothly and the team quickly arrives at the Sector 7 Slums.  Barret orders the team to return to the hideout.  Follow them but take a moment to stop and speak with the boy at the base of the pillar.  These pillar supports keep the city located above from collapsing on the slum below.  If one of these structures was ever seriously damaged...
