Before you go inside Aeris' house, check the garden for an Ether and a "Cover" Materia. This is also a good time to save your game.
Inside the house you'll meet Aeris' stepmother, who asks you to leave in the middle of the night without Aeris. Go upstairs to the empty bedroom and rest until that time. Once again, Cloud is taken away by the mysterious voices that haunt him and you see a moment from Cloud's past.
When Cloud wakes up, it's time to leave. Aeris hasn't fallen asleep yet, so you need to be quiet. Grab the care package next to the door and slowly walk-don't run-towards the outside edge of the room, sticking close to the railing. When you get outside, head for Sector 6 alone. However, Aeris is one step ahead of you. Guess you'll have to take her along after all!
