Differences between 5.2, 5.45 & 5.66
M.S.B. System Version 5.2
Being the first version released in the arcades, this version has a lot of features favourable to most VO players. This includes the CC auto sidewalking, where players can circle around the opponent by just pushing the sticks to the left or right once they're in CC range.
Angelan is weak in the version, while her ice shield lasts quite long. The LT+RW projectiles from Temjin, Battler, Cypher, does deal damage, but usually less than 1%. The special button (START), is only available to Raiden, Grys-Vok, Bal-Series, Angelan, Specineff, Striker, Battler, Cypher, and Dordray. Battler's soccer bomb(RT+RW) has more homing ability.
M.S.B. System Version 5.45
The original version specially made for the SEGA DREAMCAST. This version removes the CC auto sidewalking, while Angelan has a super tough V. Armour that initially deflects Temjin's forward dash rifle in mid-range; but somehow, the ice shield last for approximately 2 seconds. The LT+RW projectile from Temjin, Battler, Cypher doesn't do any damage here, they'll only scraps the opponent's V.Armour. In this version, Fei-Yen has the special ability to turn into Hyper Mode immediately by pressing the special button(Thus, instantly removes 51% from the life gauge).Battler's soccer bomb has lower homing ability. A-jim, Alpha Raiden and Alpha Temjin is available as hidden VRs. The Public Port's ground has been plated by metal pieces. Temjin's Radical Zapper can be used up to three times before draining up the RW gauge.
M.S.B. System Version 5.66
Nothing much is changed in this latest version of VO:OT, except for the title screen( which shows VO:OT Millennium Edition) and three new Virtuaroids (Apharmd the Commander, Temjin 10/80, and Stein-Vok). Additional stages from the SEGA DREAMCAST are added, and there's a slot for the DC's VMU where players could use it to load their custom coloured VR and names(Cool....!)
