Now, I must warn you that the following information
is only relevant to one particular flavor, or modification, of Quake
called Artifact Quake (RJS v3.2). Within RJS 3.2 there are over 30
runes, which are simply items you collect along your way that impart
upon you special powers. The following is not a complete list of
runes, as different servers have a few different runes. These are among
the most common of them:
- Strength - all of your attacks deal double damage.
- Berserker - all of your attacks deal six times their usual damage, but
all attacks on you deal triple damage.
- Resistance - all attacks on you deal only 1/2 of their usual damage.
- Flight - You are no longer encumbered by the laws of gravity.
- Weirdness - You emit little balls of happiness, that, should an
opponent of yours touch, he'll be "weirded out," which is much
like being on acid.
- Good Health - Your new limit on health goes from 100 to 666.
- Death Orb - A golden ball of death rotates around you. Anyone who
touches it takes considerable damage.
- Invulnerability - Once a minute or so, you may activate this rune.
While it is active, you are immune to any and all forms of damage.
- Vampiric - For every point of damage you deal to an opponent, you
gain a point of health (max health of 245).
- Vengeance - For every point of damage dealt to you, that player deals
a point to him or herself.
- Blink - Activate this rune to teleport to a random point in the map.
- Recall - You must set a recall point within the map for this to work.
Once the point is set, you may activate the rune to teleport back to that
point.
- Cloaking - Providing that you do not shoot any weapons, you will be
largely invisible. Your eyes can still be seen.
- Zen Monk - Providing that you do not move, you will be immune to almost
every kind of attack (BFG damage still applies).
- Camoflage - Providing that you do not move, you will be completely
invisible.
- Death Spots - You may drop up to five "death spots," which are points
in space that, should another player touch, he will die.
- Ice Traps - You may dro up to five "ice traps," which are points in space
that, should another player touch, he will be unable to move or shoot for some
time.
- Gravity - You can drop a single gravity well that attracts all
manner of objects to it. Players take damage each time they touch it.
- Impact - Whenever you come into physical contact with other players,
they take a high amount of damage and you are both sent flying about. Your
rockets and grenades also have considerably higher concussive force.
- Human Torch - You may drop up to six "fire traps," which, should some
player touch, he or she shall be ignited and shall take fire damage. Whenever
you touch a player, that player catches on fire. You are immune to fire and
lava damage.
- Haste - The rate of fire and rate of speed at which you fire weapons
increases dramatically.
- Reflection - Things tend to bounce off of you and generally not touch you.
