Irresistible
She stepped through the open door to his locker room. Her long blonde hair evenly divided between two braids that hung way past her shoulders. She looked around, hands stuffed into the rear pockets of her jeans. When she saw him, she frowned. “You seen Carley?” she threw out blandly at him, her deep English accent making her smooth voice sound cooler than usual.
He shook his head, “Not today.” A dark smirk crossed his fine lips and he mused smugly, “Lost your little gal pal?”
The girl barely wasted enough energy to scowl in response, turning on her heel to step away again. She had barely moved two steps when a tight hand nestled on her wrist, pausing her mid-step. Without turning around she snarled, “Let go of me.”
A soft laugh slipped from his throat and he threw his head back, flicking a few strands of purple hair from his face. “Make me?”
She turned quickly, glaring at him, “Have you gone fucking mad? You know what’ll happen if I have Carley mention to Hunter that you were harassing me again.”
“Do I look worried?”
Her eyes skimmed across his handsome features. One eyebrow arched inquisitively, almost seductively, his hazel eyes filled with a kind of mischievous pleasure. His perfectly chiselled chin protruded slightly in determination and her glare only deepened. Worried was certainly the last thing he looked.
His smile widened. Lazy, arrogant. It curled the corners of his mouth just enough to torment her. She felt a slight shiver run through her, and when he felt it tremble through his touch on her wrist he leant closer. His hot breath caressed her ear, blowing back a few loose strands of hair as he breathed, “You were saying?”
“Let go of me,” she growled again, this time jerking her arm away from him. But his hold, firm yet somehow gentle, remained. “Jeff…” She muttered his name with enough distaste to make it sound like a swear word, and when he shot another pleased smirk at her, it only infuriated her more.
Her fiery blue eyes met his, locking there. Her gaze intent with her hatred for him, she thought briefly about threatening him a second time. But her train of thought wavered as he leaned closer, and when his nose brushed tenderly over the tip of her own, the only sound she could utter was a slight cry of surprise. The anger teetering in her heart faded a moment, replaced by a fleeting but intense wave of something she could not describe. Sensing the momentary lapse in temper he had been hoping for he closed his eyes, his soft lips brushing against hers before she could stop him.
Lost to her body’s instinctive reaction to him, the girl tilted forward. Her lips parting slightly, welcoming the intrusion of his tongue as it swept between them, deepening the kiss with heated avengeance. His hold on her wrist was broken, only to be replaced by both arms as he wrapped himself around her. Her mind screamed at her to pull away, but her hands had somehow found their way into his hair. The longer the embrace went on the firmer against him she moved until her body was soon so tight against his it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began.
A soft moan formed in her throat and she almost cringed upon hearing it, her body betraying her. She could feel his lips form into yet another self-satisfied smirk at the sound of it, and it was only this that slowly drew her from the haze she had fallen into. Moving in his arms, she eased away from him, her body becoming rigid. With a chuckle he let her pull back and as her lips left his he opened his eyes.
“You were saying?” He laughed.
A furious snarl escaped her and unrestrained she let loose with a vicious slap. Her open palm connecting with his cheek, it left a perfect red mark thereupon and pleased, she managed a grin. But to her grim annoyance his expression did not change.
“Are you done now?” He asked, and she found herself stepping away from him. He laughed again, “I thought as much,” and brushed past her so he could step out the door into the awaiting corridor.
The girl closed her eyes, almost breathing a sigh of relief until his hand snapped back, slapping her squarely on the ass. She yelped and jumped forward.
“Until next time, Karla.” He rubbed his hand in a slow circle over her injured behind and then this time truly moved away.
She stayed still, silent a moment, hesitant to open her eyes. When she did only to find he had indeed gone, she scowled. Anger stampeded through her contemptuous heart.
But the feel of his arms around her stayed, her ass stinging in a not entirely unpleasant way, her lips alight with the feel of his kiss. She flicked her braids furiously behind her. She would not let him get to her. She would not.
Yet as she walked away the hollowness of the words echoed in her mind and she knew…
There was no resisting Jeffrey Nero Hardy.
Karla was doomed.
