Never Mess With A McMahon Princess
"You wanted to see me, Daddy?"
Vince looked up from the papers he was musing over when Kalli stuck her head around the open door of his make shift office, smiling warmly at his daughter. "I did. Come in, Kalli."
The girl stepped into the room. Vince motioned for her to close the door over and she did so before moving over to sit by him on the sofa. Despite her composure, she fidgeted with the ring on her right index finger. It was always the very thing that gave away her nervousness, and Vince's warm smile subdued into a comforting one.
"Daddy - Is something the matter?"
Vince shook his head, "No, baby. Not at all. I just wanted to..." He chose his words carefully, "Prepare you for tonight's Smackdown taping."
Kalli's eyebrows crinkled in confusion and she asked quietly, "Prepare me how?" Vince mused for a moment and Kalli said, "Daddy, if this is about the Trish and Jeff angle..."
"No, its not that. Exactly."
She sighed, "Daddy, I can't make it any clearer. I'm perfectly okay with this Trish and Jeff thing."
Slight dubiousness formed on Vince's face, "Really?"
"Uh huh." She reached out and pat her father's face, "Daddy, Trish is my friend. And Jeff is..." A tinge of red touched her cheeks as she spoke aloud the very words she had never voiced in front of her father before, "Jeff is my everything. I love him, Daddy. And I have perfect faith in both of them. They're adorable together, and I'm enjoying this angle as much as everyone else is."
The Chairman of the WWF smiled gently at this. He knew Kalli loved Jeff, he did, but she was very guarded about the relationship in front of her parents. And not generally by choice, he was sure. She just wasn't sure how to broach the topic. Up until recently, Kalli had never been the kind of girl to voice her feelings willy nilly. In fact, she wasn't generally the kind of girl who went 'gooey' over anyone either. But since Jeff had almost literally Swanton-ed into her life, things had changed...
He shook away his train of thought and cleared his throat, "Kalli..." He thought long and hard before going on, his voice betraying him. Concern leaking into it. "Tonight at the Smackdown taping, we're..." He cleared his throat again, "We're *furthering* the build up to the Tag Team Bra & Panties Match at Invasion." She nodded her understanding and he went on, "Torrie and Stacey will, uh... They're going to help make the match a little more personal."
Only now did Kalli's eyes narrow, "And how are they going to do that, Daddy?"
Vince rushed the words out, "They're going to kiss Matt and Jeff..."
"WHAT???" Kalli's hard glare fixed on her father's face, searching for some sign that his words weren't the truth, but none came. The girl hoped to her feet, her hands on her hips. "Daddy, I hope for your sake you're yanking me, because I am not going to let one of those greasy little WCW harlots anywhere *NEAR* the Hardy Boys. And if you think for one second Krissy would either, then..."
He cut in quietly, "Your sister has approved the angle."
"She... She..." The girl couldn't keep her mortification out of her voice, "How did you get Krissy to okay this?"
Her father shrugged, "It wasn't that hard. I mean, granted she wasn't comfortable with the idea but she trusts Matt. And she knows that this is for the good of the company, Kalli. You know personal animosity always heightens the interest in Pay Per Views..."
Sarcasm flooded into Kalli's voice, "You think the fact that those girls are having a Bra & Panty match wouldn't heighten interest enough?"
"Kalli..."
"Daddy." She snapped, "No. Okay, no. You are *not* going to get one word of approval about this from me, got it?"
He played the trump card he had used to so effectively on his little girl, Krissy. "I thought you said you trust Jeff."
"I do. And I trust Trish too. But just the *thought* of those little skanks near Jeff..." She rang her fingers together, balling her hands into angry fists. "Do you know how talentless little jokes like that get their starts, Daddy? Huh? Those two *women* are... Are..." She growled angrily.
Vince stood now, grabbing her arms and speaking as soothingly as possible. "Those women are now employed by WWFE, and as a McMahon, you should know better than to speak about our employees like that." His voice was firm despite his comforting stance, "Kalli... I know you have issues with Torrie and Stacy, but... They've never done anything to you, really. And you know that."
"Daddy, those girls are..." She stared him in the eye, "WWF Divas," She added spitefully, "Apart from Terri, are the most talented women in the Wrestling game, and women like Torrie and Stacey insult that just by being *employed* by the McMahon family."
"Kalli!" Vince snapped angrily at her, "You are being totally unreasonable about this. Now, I'm telling you, this segment is going to take place tonight and *that* is my final word about it. You would make this much easier if you sacrificed your own pride for the good of the WWF and just let this happen without complaint, do you hear me?"
Her voice lowered into a cool snarl, "I hear you, Daddy. But don't expect me to like this even for a second..." She snatched her arms from her fathers grasp and stormed from the room.
~*~
Kalli waited a good hour in the Women's Locker Room that was currently shared by both the WWF Divas and the WCW... She paused mid-thought, trying to refrain from generalizing *all* of the WCW Women's Division as Harlots.
She'd waited and waited. She'd had to put up with Terri yammering in her ear for a good fifteen minutes before she had disappeared to accompany Perry ring side for his match for Heat. She'd also seen Linds and Melly too for a few minutes before they had gone off to do this and that prior to Smackdown, but for the most part, she had waited alone.
If you asked her to describe exactly *why* she loathed Stacey and Torrie so much, she knew better than anyone she would be at a bit of a loss to pinpoint any legitimate, or convincing, reasons. Granted, some of her reasoning was professional. She really did believe they lowered the image of the WWF Divas just by being associated by them because, all honesty, she was yet to see a WCW girl out perform a Diva in the ring. In fact, she doubted that was even possible. And the fact that at least 8 times out of 10 they came over as little more than cheap bimbos when they were on the mic bothered her too...
But there was something else about Stacey and Torrie that annoyed the hell out of her.
On more than one occasion since WWFE had purchased WWF had one, or more, of her friends suggested perhaps her animosity was jealousy based. That she hated the way men swooned when the twosome breezed past all scantily clad clothing, long blonde hair and batting eye lids. And maybe in some ways she did...
But she refused to believe that those women made it in the WCW because they worked the hardest, or because they had the most talent, because she knew how many women were out there, working their asses off to make it in the Wrestling industry. Women who were athletic and talented, who could turn a phrase as well as they could suplex or DDT.
And Torrie Wilson and Stacey Keibler were not those kind of girls.
"Oh, Kalli. I didn't think we'd see you in here."
Kalli McMahon's eyes snapped up when she heard Torrie's voice from the door of the locker room. She stepped inside with Stacey hot on her heels. They clicked the door over behind them and made their way over the their lockers, Stacey smiling, sickly sweet, at her as she passed her, "Don't the McMahon girls have their own locker room, or do you actually mix with commoners after all?"
"Funny." Kalli's voice was so cold it almost surprised herself, not to mention the slightly startled looks of Torrie and Stacey at her obvious animosity toward them. "I didn't think blondes knew how to make a funny." She got up, stepping over to them coolly.
Torrie looked her over and asked gently, still not quite able to keep her own distaste for the McMahon Princess out of her voice, "Is something the matter, Kalli? You don't seem you're usual chirpy self."
"I'll cut right to the chase, girls." Hands placed firmly on hips, Kalli went on, "You have a segment with the Hardy Boys tonight. I'm not happy about it. And despite what my Father tells me, I refuse to believe my sister is very happy about it either." Her eyes glimmered with anger, " To be frank, I don't trust either of you. When left to your own devices, I think they line that shouldn't be crossed where things are concerned might, well, mysteriously disappear."
Stacey's mock offence played out into a spiteful, "Kalli McMahon! Don't you know? Torrie and I are consummate professionals."
Kalli almost laughed, "That's what bothers me."
Torrie gaped at the girl before them, "Kalli..."
The girl cut her off, "Matt and Jeff are off limits. And if I see either one of you *crossing the line* so to speak, well..."
Stacey glared snootily at the McMahon, "Well what?"
Kalli uttered her WWF and life catch cry threateningly, "Just try me."
Stacey and Torrie exchanged a long look and to Torrie's horror, Stacey stepped forward, her face only centimetres from Kalli's. "I think I might."
Torrie mumbled worriedly, "Stacey.."
"Come on, little rich girl. Let's see what your made of."
Stacey loomed over her expectantly,Torrie cringed near by, and Kalli McMahon grinned wickedly...
~*~
"Hey!!!"
Kalli McMahon bounced off the figure passing by in the hallway as the locker room door clicked shut behind her, nearly going ass up. She looked up past her long and dishevelled hair, smiling when she saw it was her sister hovering over her.
"Kalli - Geez, where are you off to in such a hurry?" Krissy reached out a hand to smooth her sisters hair, "And looking like you just had a match with someone big and scary no less." She smiled lovingly, "You look..." She let her voice trail off, her playful grin telling her sister exactly what she thought.
The girl grinned, matching her sister perfectly. "I'm sorry, Kris. "
Her sister smiled, "It's okay. Just..." She broke off when her eyes found the makings of a shiner on her sisters eye. "Hey! What the hell is that?" She pulled her sister closer to examine her.
Trying to protest, Kalli brushed her sister away. "It's nothing."
"Nothing my ass." She ran her fingertips lightly over the swelling, "Kalli - This is going to be a horrible bruise." Her voice was gentle, "Who did this to you? I'll make the rotten bastard pay..." Kalli started to laugh despite herself and Krissy asked dubiously, "And just *what* is so funny?"
Kalli leant forward, whispering, "I just want you to know, you have nothing to worry about in regards to Smackdown tonight."
Confused, Krissy asked, "Kalli, what are you talking about?"
Kalli asked sweetly, "Can you keep a secret?" Krissy nodded, and Kalli reached behind her and opened the door to the Women's locker room, never taking her eyes from her sisters face.
Krissy looked past her sister and into the room...
Torrie Wilson was only just dragging herself back onto her feet, holding her tangled mass of hair and rubbing her backside.
Stacey Keibler was still spread out on the floor, holding her head. Beside her lay a battered steel chair.
Krissy turned to her sister, horrified, "Kalli, what did you do? Daddy is going to kill you!!!"
"Daddy is never going to know." Her deliciously evil grin was unwavering and Krissy could do little but shake her head as her sister turned to go.
Vince's little girl cast a look back into the room, trying to take in the situation. Kalli's voice sounded in her head again, "I just want you to know, you have nothing to worry about in regards to Smackdown tonight."
And despite herself, Krissy McMahon smiled.
