More Than That
I can see that you’ve been crying
You can’t hide it with a lie
What’s the use in you denying
That what you have is wrong?
I heard him promise you forever
But forever’s come and gone
Baby, he would say whatever
It takes to keep you blind
To the truth between the lines

Adam Copeland was infuriated.

Purely, completely infuriated.

Krissy McMahon just had no idea, did she?

He sighed, slamming the door of the refrigerator closed and tearing open the Corona he had pulled from within. He took a long hard swig from it...

But it didn't make him feel any better.

Nothing would make him feel better...

Not until Krissy McMahon was back in his life, back in his arms, with Matt Hardy nowhere to be seen, nowhere to be found for that matter, not ever again.

What right did he have to her anymore? What claim could he possibly have on her heart? He had cheated on her with her own sister. While she lay in a hospital bed believing her child was dead, he lay in love's arms...

And it was love, wasn't it?

He growled, storming out into the lounge to drop angrily onto the sofa.

Matt and Kalli could paint it any way they pleased, but Adam knew they loved each other. That boy would drop everything for that girl time and time again, and if it hurt Krissy, then...

Matt Hardy didn't give a damn.

I will love you more than that
I won't say the words
Then take them back
Don’t give loneliness a chance
Baby listen to me when I say
I will love you more than that

He'd like to think that he was wrong. That there was someway, somehow, that Krissy could be happy with Matt...

But it wasn't truly possible anymore.

She was pregnant with his child. His flesh and blood. And no matter what happened between her and Matt, the Hardy Boy would never be able to compete with that one bond that would forever unite Krissy and Adam.

He shook his head.

It wasn't the only bond and he knew it.

And damn him all to hell if he was wrong, but Krissy knew it too.

The way she responded to him, the way she would fight her smile and try and hide the sparkle in her eye...

She knew.

What she needed now? It was a push in the right direction.

Matt Hardy was in love with Kalli McMahon, and though Adam didn't hold a doubt in the world about Matt's feelings for Krissy, he knew all too well that as long as Kalli was around, Matt would never give Krissy the love and stability that she needed.

The love and stability he could give her, he could give their child, if she would only let him.

Baby, you deserve much better
What’s the use in holding on
Don’t you see it’s now or never
‘Cause I just can’t be friends
Baby knowing in the end that…

She had been going to marry him.

It felt like yesterday, and in a round about way it kinda was.

She had walked away from Matt and she had wanted to marry him. He knew she did. They had planned their wedding, they had been so close...

Krissy was going to dedicate her life to him, and he to her.

A few fancy delcarations of love later and she had walked away from what they had for the chaos that was Matt.

Matt Hardy; a man in love with her sister.

Yes. He felt bad for Matt in a way. It had to be hard, torn between two sisters. A woman as amazing as Krissy and a girl as sweet as Kalli... But Kalli McMahon was no Krissy, and what drove Matt to her above Krissy time and time again was beyond Adam.

He loved Kalli too. They had been friends for a long, long time before her recent actions, her determination to drive her sister to a man she did not belong with, had forever decimated their friendship.

But to leave Krissy for Kalli when Krissy needed him most...

Matt Hardy didn't deserve Krissy McMahon.

Adam took another long, hard swig of his Corona, near draining the bottle in just moments.

Matt Hardy didn't deserve Krissy McMahon.

And if he went to his grave trying, Adam would fight to prove that one way or another.

The plain simple truth in his eyes was... Honestly?

No one could love Krissy the way he did.

There’s not a day that passes by
I don’t wonder why we haven’t tried
It’s not too late to change your mind
So take my hand, don’t say goodbye
I would love you more than that
I wont say the words
Then take them back

Together, he and Krissy were having a child.  A child created in love.

Because they had been. So in love. So very in love.

No matter how determined Krissy was that her life now was with Matt, that she adored him and loved him and needed him and longed for him...

Her life, as it had always been, was meant to be shared with him.

For years they had been drawn together, over and over, time and time again, in spite of odds that would have destroyed most unions beyond recognition long before now. He himself was guiltiest of all. He had mistreated her in ways that were only moderately lesser than Matt's infedility, physically at least...

After all, he had never slept with her sister.

And he had never loved someone else.

No.

All the while he had roamed, his heart had always stayed with Krissy.

His heart always would.

Now the only battle that lay ahead was this...

How did he make Krissy McMahon see the truth?

Krissy and Adam.

Their hearts, their soulds would be one...

Forever.

I will love you more than that
I won't say the words
Then take them back
Don’t give loneliness a chance
Baby listen to me when I say
I will love you more than that
