Princess Melly & The 7 Wrestlers
A long, long time ago in a far away land, there was born a beautiful Princess unto the land of Wrestlemania.
Named Melly by her kind and gentle mother Queen Linda, the Princess brought love and laughter back into the Kingdom, softening the tyrannical methods of her father King Vince with her beautiful smile that radiated warmth like that of her brother, Prince Shane, and long locks of soft brown hair very much like her older sister, Princess Stephanie.
Throughout the years Wrestlemania was beset upon by villains and tyrants that made the legends of old seem pale and weak in comparison. Fiends like The Undertaker and his horrifying brother Kane had invaded the land on numerous occasions, and the dastardly Stone Cold Steve Austin had sought to destroy the Kingdom more than once. But Princess Melly brought hope to her people. She would go out among them, leading her Father's men into battle with her brother and sister when the men needed that boost for their morale. She was never afraid of the darkness that sought to destroy her family, and her youthful exuberance and unwavering zest for life endeared her to her people.
And despite the hardships that befell her Kingdom, Princess Melly and her family found happiness together...
Until the winter that Princess Melly turned 18.
The Black Death swept through the land of Wrestlemania, and the Royal Family went to their people with Doctors and Medical Supplies. But it was too little avail and many lives were lost.
But saddest of all was the death of Wrestlemania's beloved Queen Linda.
Heartbroken at the loss of her Mother, Princess Melly lapsed into isolation. She would not speak to anyone, not even her concerned Father King Vince or her Brother and Sister. She would accept no visitors save her personal guard. A tall and handsome man known throughout the Palace as Test, for truly he had passed every one of King Vince's gruelling examinations to win the position of her guard.
But even to Test she did not speak.
Everyday she remained locked away in her bedroom, crying until she had no more tears to cry, mourning for her the woman who had shaped her life in so many ways. And throughout it all, she found her only comfort was in dreams of love. A tall, blonde, handsome stranger who might one day sweep into her life on his magnificent stallion and heal her broken life.
And while she mourned, a visitor came to the Palace.
A woman unlike any other the land of Wrestlemania had ever seen. She had dark, haunting eyes and a wicked grin. Her hair streamed down her back in elegant but devilish strands of blonde and whenever she laughed her bosom heaved so as to attract the attention of any man present. For she had a way about her that no man could resist...
Especially not a grieving husband with the weight of an entire Kingdom on his shoulders.
And so it was that King Vince found himself once again in love.
But it was not to the liking of his children.
At the realization her father was to wed such a vixen, Princess Melly snapped from her state of loss and pleaded with her father not to remarry, but he did not heed her warnings. Prince Shane and Princess Stephanie saw too that their father had been bewitched and joined their sister in her campaign, but their words fell on deaf ears.
Only months after the death of his wife and Queen, King Vince married the mysterious and voluptuous Trish of Stratus. And no sooner had they married than King Vince returned to his tyrannical ways and poverty flourished in the once rich land of Wrestlemania.
In rebellion against his Father's choice Prince Shane lead a cavalry of his Father's own army, loyal to the Prince of Wrestlemania, into the neighbouring Kingdom of Nitro. He took the throne from the evil King Russo and aligned himself with the nobles of his new Kingdom. Together they declared war on Wrestlemania.
Unlike her brother, Princess Stephanie chose finally to support her fathers decision, for both she and her husband Lord Hunter of Hearst Helmsley, were fond of the comforts of royalty, and did not wish to be cast out of the Palace to live without their riches or servants.
Discontent stirred throughout the Palace as a result of this, for Princess Melly prayed for her brother, and secretly wished she had left Wrestlemania to join him in his victory in Nitro. But as the wise old saying went, it was better to keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and the Princess knew in her heart that if she could stay in her Father and new Step-Mother's favour, she may one day be able to win back her father and right the injustice running rampant in her Kingdom.
Queen Trish had in her possession though an enchanted mirror, and using its mystical powers she could see through Princess Melly's charade of loyalty. She knew that this girl, with all her power and passion, would one day soar above any adversaries to her Kingdom and decimate them all. In her dread of this day, Queen Trish summoned the finest of Wrestlemania's Hunters to her bedchamber late one night and seduced him with her wicked ways. "Listen to me," she would coo. "The Princess Melly must die... She opposes my marriage and plots secretly to kill my beloved King Vince. Her very own father! She does not deserve to live."
The Hunter, Sir Regal, listened carefully to his Queen's words, nodding his head in agreeance as she spoke, and he knew what she was saying must be right, for surely a buxom wench such as she could not lie.
So the very next night, knowing that the Queen had layered the Princess' meal with sleeping potion, Sir Regal crept into Princess Melly's bedchamber, sneaking up on Test from behind and knocking him unconscious with the butt of the axe he carried with him. Stealing the Princess away in her sleep he took her deep into the Smackdown Forest to kill her...
But as he poised his axe above his head, ready to bring it down upon her, the young Princess woke from her slumbers. She let out a startled scream then began to cry. Sir Regal's face softened and he realized that a creature such as himself could not kill such a beauty. He leaned over to help the Princess to her feet, but she surged forward, delivering a fierce low blow, just as Test had taught her, and then disappearing into the Forest.
Princess Melly ran and ran until the bright morning sun drowned the darkness of night. When she finally paused to rest, she realized she was lost. Tears came to her again and terrified she curled into a ball at the foot of a mighty oak to cry her fear away...
But she did not pause for long, for the bitteresque scent of smoke filled her nostrils. The Princess climbed wearily to her feet and followed the smell, her heart pounding in her chest at the hope perhaps someone actually lived within the isolation of the Smackdown Forest.
She was not disappointed.
After perhaps a good fifteen minutes walking, a glorious little two-storey cottage came into view, and Princess Melly knew that all was not lost. She walked carefully up to the door of the cottage and knocked, over and over again. Eventually, when she realized no response would come, she tried the door handle. The wooden door clicked open and the Princess stepped inside the cottage.
Inside the scarcely furnished cottage was little more than a cluttered sink and stove and an old wooden dining table with seven chairs. There was dust everywhere and if not for the still present scents of the morning's breakfast and the warmth of the fire, the Princess might have thought the cottage had been abandoned for years.
The Princess warmed herself at the fire and then proceeded to look through the rest of the cottage. She found a tiny laundry with clothes, all belonging to various sized men, and seemingly at least one women, piled so high that she wondered if the residents of the cottage had anything left to wear at all. There was also a small, dingy bathroom, a spare room filled with equipment that looked very like what she had seen Test use a good thousand times in the Royal Gymnasium and then the bedroom, which took up all of the second floor.
After such a traumatic night, Princess Melly was exhausted, and so she climbed into one of the beds, snuggling deep into the warm covers, and fell asleep.
While the Princess was asleep, the occupants of the cottage arrived home from a hard days work. It was the youngest of seven that discovered the sleeping beauty in his bed.
The young man hurried back down stairs and to his six friends, "Guys - Take a look at this! And be quiet..." Jeff motioned to his friends. All crept quietly behind him up the stairs...
When Princess Melly awoke, a sea of startled faces surrounded her. She let out a distressed squeak, so hoarse was her throat from the previous night, pulling the covers up around her.
One of the men nearest her, seeing her apparent fear, leaned forward and told her quietly, "It's all right. We're not going to hurt you." He smiled, "My name is Rocky." He asked her gently, "And who might you be?"
And again the poor Princess started to cry. She recounted her tale about her evil Step Mother and all ears listened curiously. When she was done, every pair of eyes in the room sat sympathetically on her. For they all knew, just as the Princess did, that as long as her conniving Step Mother was in power, she could not go home...
In the mean time, Sir Regal had returned to Queen Trish. He presented her with an elegantly crafted box that he had brought on his way back to the Palace that afternoon. Inside he had placed the heart of a poor Dear he had killed in place of the Princess, so that the evil Queen might never know that he had allowed the Princess to escape.
Queen Trish was most pleased with his gift, and rewarded him accordingly.
Confident now that her meddling Step Daughter was no longer a threat to her, Queen Trish furthered her strong hold on King Vince by having her personal chef mix potions of this sort and that into the King's meals. And as the poor King lost his grip on reality, Trish became the true ruler of Wrestlemania.
But her Kingdom did not thrive. For she pillaged it and abused it for all it was worth. The people of her Kingdom lived poorly, struggling to pay ridiculous taxes and offer tributes to the Royal Family. Every boy over the age of 14 was assigned to a military unit to battle against Prince Shane's army, for the boys she sent to battle were enough to keep Prince Shane's army from taking any more of her Kingdom. The war was at a stale mate and all seemed well for Queen Trish.
Two years passed and Princess Melly had settled well into a new life with her new friends, The Seven Wrestlers. In exchange for her cooking and cleaning their home while they were out teaching Wrestling classes, the Wrestlers let the Princess live with them, and at night they would teach her new Wrestling moves and let her teach them a few too, just as Test had taught her when she still lived at the Palace. Rocky, Jeff, Matt, Raven, Edge, Christian and Chyna came to love the Princess dearly, and she them...
Until one chilly afternoon when everything they shared would be taken away, for tragedy was to strike for Princess Melly again.
Bored with her new toy boy one day, Queen Trish went to her Magic Mirror, which had been practically unused since she had dispatched her wretched Step Daughter. She looked at the mirror plainly and said, "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, is there no one who can challenge me at all?"
"A challenge there is and a challenge you'll get, when from the Forest comes your missing Princess," the mirror replied.
Queen Trish was furious! She called to her bed chamber again Sir Regal and ordered him to find the Princess, for the next time he failed she would not be nearly so lenient. Horrified, Sir Regal did as he was instructed, and for weeks he searched the Smackdown Forest.
And it was on that chilly afternoon that Sir Regal found the cottage in the woods, and he hurried to report back to his Queen. Thrilled with this revelation, Queen Trish rode into the forest disguised as an old woman, carrying carefully in her lap a basket full of poison apples.
When she came to the cottage, she struggled haggardly to the door and knocked. After a few moments the Princess answered the door and Queen Trish smiled sweetly, introducing herself as nothing more than a peasant hoping to make some money by selling some of the delicious apples from her small orchid. The Princess kindly invited the woman inside and offered her some tea, graciously telling her she would buy some of her apples for her friends and herself.
The Queen exchanged pleasantries with the Princess while she made the tea and when eventually the Princess sat with her, she coaxed her into trying an apple right there and then.
Princess Melly took a bite, swallowing delicately. The Queen laughed wickedly, "My magic mirror will bring me good news now..."
The Princess gasped, realising suddenly who the woman really was.
But before she could do anything she collapsed to the floor.
"You will not die, my pretty," said the Queen, "But you will never really live again either." And with that she cast off her disguise and hurried back to her beloved Palace.
That night when the Wrestlers arrived home, they were mortified to find their beloved Princess motionless on the floor clutching an apple with a single bite taken from it in her hand.
Believing her to be dead, they had made for her a beautiful glass coffin that they placed on a large concrete tablet in a grove not far from their cottage. They gave her a beautiful send off, and every day for a year all seven of the Wrestlers visited her grave, always marvelling at how even in death nothing could steal the Princess' beauty.
On the Princess' anniversary, all the Wrestlers made their way to her grave with flowers to pay tribute to their lost friend. To their surprise when they got there, a tall, handsome man with long locks of beautiful blonde hair stood silently over her grave.
"Who are you?" Matt demanded angrily.
The man shook his head slightly and sighed then said, "I am Prince Jericho of the Kingdom of Raw. I was just riding past when I came across the most beautiful woman I have ever seen..." He looked to the Wrestlers and asked, "What is her name?"
"Melly," Raven told him grumpily. "What is it to you?"
The Prince was silent for a moment and then he said, "Her peaceful face calls to me and I must kiss her sweet lips but once..."
All the Wrestlers save one, moved forward in protest to this, but Chyna raised a hand and said, "No, boys. Let him have his kiss."
And so Edge and Christian opened the lid of the glass coffin, and Matt and Jeff lifted her so that the Prince could look into her gentle face. "Such a loss," whispered the Prince, and then he leant forward to press his lips to hers.
After a moment the Princess' eyes fluttered open, and the Prince, aware of the movement pulled back in surprise. Matt and Jeff were so surprised they nearly dropped her and the rest of the Wrestlers jumped in shock.
But the Princess was calm. She looked into Prince Jericho's eyes and smiled, "I dreamed of you," she whispered.
The Prince laughed, then took her in his arms and kissed her again.
The celebrations of the Wrestlers and the Prince and Princess were cut short, for when she had rested a while, Princess Melly told her friends about the Queen and her visit to their home exactly one year before. Furious that such a wrong had been done to the beautiful Princess, Prince Jericho kissed his Princess and rode off in search of Prince Shane, for he would align their Kingdoms and together they would invade Wrestlemania.
Two weeks later, Prince Jericho returned with Prince Shane. They had ordered the Commanders of their Armies to attack Wrestlemania while the two Princes, the Princess and the Wrestlers invaded the Palace from the inside.
And so they did.
The very next night, the ten brave souls crept into the castle. But as they tip toed through the halls, a shadowy figure called to them from behind in the darkness. All turned to face the voice when a gasp could be heard. From the shadows stepped a man and the Princess laughed, "Test!" She exclaimed, running into the man's arms to hold him tightly.
Back with her personal guard and close friend, the Princess and her friends came to the Royal Court. Seated on the throne next to her beloved magic mirror was Queen Trish. "I knew you would come," she said indignantly. Holding up a leather strap, she stood, "But I will not let you take my Kingdom."
Prince Shane stepped forward, but Princess Melly reached out a hand to stop him, "Allow me." The Princess leapt forward and pulled Queen Trish to the ground with a fierce take down. The women wrestled and slapped at each other relentlessly, until eventually the Princess managed to snatch the leather strap away. She pulled up the malicious Queen's skirt and spanked her horribly with the strap before climbing to her feet and hurrying to the Queen's mirror. She picked it up as Queen Trish screamed and then threw it mercilessly to the ground...
Where it shattered into a million pieces.
The evil Queen screamed again, and then evaporated into a cloud of smelly green smoke, never to be seen or heard from again.
From that day forward, order was restored to the land of Wrestlemania.
King Vince recovered and eventually passed his throne onto his daughter, Princess Stephanie and her husband Lord Hunter of Hearst Helmsley. Prince Shane married and continued to rule the Kingdom of Nitro...
Rocky, Jeff, Matt, Raven, Edge, Christian and Chyna went on to create what they called 'Sports Entertainment.' They travelled the known world entertaining peasants and royalty alike with their daring antics...
And Princess Melly?
Reunited with her family at last and secure in the knowledge that her home was again safe from Queen Trish, the Princess wed Prince Jericho and ruled with him in the Kingdom of Raw...
And you guessed it...
They all lived happily ever after.
