Sweeeeet. 11-1-99: Started Walkthrough. 11-15-99: I thought it would be nice to put Boost Tips here. Press Select with your left middle finger. Then, press Square with your two index fingers as if drumming a roll with your fingers on a drum. That way, you can Boost Pandemona up to 220, Bahamut 212, Alexander 201, and Leviathan 191! (Of course, Eden to 250.) 1-2-00: The reason why there are no LV or MP stats for bosses are... MP: no MP is in FF8. LV: Bosses LV depends on Squall's LV. Also, HP stat is determined by LV stat. Approximate HP stats are given. 1: DISC I 1.1 intro and fire cavern -=Fithos, lusec, wecos, vinosec=- Watch the introduction. Watch the introduction. Watch the introduction. Watch the introduction. Phew! That took a while. Now watch some more scenes. Choose whichever option you want when the doc asks you questions. Name the character (Squall). You will see a mysterious young lady peer through the window.... Then Quistis will come and talk to you. The 2 will walk along the hall, and eventually you'll be in the classroom. Quistis will address the class, and everyone will leave but Squall. Before you go to talk to Quistis, examine Squall's desk. Turn on the computer and go to Tutorial. There, you got you first 2 GFs, Quezacotl and Shiva. Now talk to Quistis. Exit the room. Go toward the camera and exit. A person will bump into you and ask for a tour. Go for it, it is a good way to get familiarized with the Garden. Talk to the man near the elevator to get your first 7 cards. Go down, and the tour will begin. After that, exit the Garden to the South. Keep going south until you reach Quistis. She will give another tutorial. Now equip your GFs and exit. Go to the beaches and fight. You get 6 AP a battle. HAve Quezacotl learn Boost, Card, and HP-J. Have Shiva learn Boost, Str-J, and I-Mag RF. When you have this go to the Fire cavern, to the east. There will be another tutorial. After that, talk to the robed guys and choose a time (either 10 or 20). With 10, your rank will be higher, but you won't have time to stock magic or turn the Bombs into powerful cards. I recommend 20. Make sure you have Blizzards and Waters equipped. Go through the caver. The path is straight forward. There will be a few conversations between Quistis and Squall. At the end you will fight Ifrit. -------------------------BOSS TIPS: IFRIT--------------------------------- HP: ~2000 STRENGTH: fire WEAKNESS: ice, water Easy fight. Boost Shiva and Queszacotl, just keep pounding on him with the 2 GFs. What a waste of space! Oh yeah, he'll join as a GF and you get his card. Don't lose it! It is your first 'rare' card. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Exit. If you chose 10 minutes, now's your chance to build up. Exit, and head back to the Garden. Remember that you can get Bomb cards here, get around 5. 1.2 the dollet mission Go back to the Garden. There will be another Tutorial. Go to your dorm and change your clothes. Go back to the 1st floor for a briefing by Quistis and Headmaster Cid. Your party will be Zell and Seifer. There will be more scenes, and you will have control of the car. Drive it in Balamb town. You will reach the docks. Follow the crowd into the boat. Inside, Xu will brief you about the mission. Then you will have an option whether to talk to anyone. Doesn't matter, in the end Seifer will order you to look outside. Then you watch a really sweet FMV. You'll land on the beach. Follow Seifer wherever he goes. Remember, in battle he has an R1 trigger as well, you just have to pull it sooner. This is the only time you fight with him in your party, so check out his Limits and stuff. AFter a while you will reach Center Square. Clear the enemies, then after a few scenes your party will head to the Comm Tower. Keep going along the path. After a while, in one of the battles, Seifer will mention something about the finisher of the battle getting the most EXP. You don't have to save it for him. Watch a few more scenes, then Seifer leaves, and Selphie joins. Go into the Comm Tower, save, draw, and go up. At the top you'll see Biggs and Wedge. More scenes follow, then a battle occurs. You will fight Biggs first, then Wedge will come. Just fight them with GFs. Then they'll get blown away and you will have to fight Elvoret. ----------------------------BOSS TIPS: ELVORET------------------------------ HP: 3000 WEAKNESS: wind STRENGTH: none GFs. That's pretty much all you can do. If you want to experiment with Limit Breaks, go for it. If you got Shiva's I-Mag RF and refined Fish Fins into Waters, and junctioned them to Strength, you could rack up the damage easily. Same with Thunders and Fires with Quezacotl and Ifrit, respectively. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go back down and save. Watch the scene with Biggs and his robot. The robot will attack you. It is X-ATM092. AFter dealing 1000 HP, Zell prompts you to run away. You can stay and fight if you want, but keep in mind that the X-ATM092 will regenerate its HPs if you do not run. After each battle, RUN LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW. Run, run, run! There will be a few more skirmishes with the machine, and when you see the FMV of the car being crushed, you know you're at the end. Watch the sweet FMV and go back to Balamb. When you reach the docks, Seifer will take the car. So just follow the road and walk back to the car. When you reach, your party will split. Go in the lobby and talk to Cid, Xu and Quistis. Then go right and talk to Seifer. Scenes will follow. After that is done. GO to the 2F near the classroom and wait for a while. After some time, the robed guy will come and say Squall and Zell were nominated to be SeeDs. Then you will be in Headmaster Cid's office with 2 others (Selphie? and some other guy). A few more scenes will follow, and you rank will be given. Your SeeD rank is a basis for your Salary. The higher the rank, the higher the salary. You can raise this rank by taking the written tests (see Lists: SeeD Tests). Go to your room, change, and Save. Talk to Selphie, and watch the FMVs at the dance. Afterward, you'll be on the balcony with Quistis. She will tell you to change back and go to the training center. So do that. When you go to the training center, Quistis will give you a brief Tutorial, and then the game will proceed. Go left at the fork. Then go around. When you reach the scene with the Save point, save then go onto the bridge toward the light. Enter, then there will be some scenes with Squall and Quistis. After the scenes, you'll leave, then save. Go back to the entrance where you will have to help that mysterious young lady whom you saw in the infirmary... ------------------------BOSS TIPS: GRANALDO + RALDO x3------------------------- GRANALDO RALDO x3 HP: 2500 HP: 300 WEAKNESS: none WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: none Batter these guys with GFs. You can use some of Quistis's Blue Magic for Limit Breaks if you want. The Raldos will die after 2 GF castings, regardless which GF it is. Then bust out with GFs and Blue Magic on Granaldo. Easy fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few more scenes occur with the lady and her escorts, and then you will be prompted to leave the training center. At the end, there will be another scene, then go to your dorm. 1.3 an eerie dream You'll wake up the next day. Go to the main entrance. There will be Cid, Squall, Selphie, and a Garden subordinate. Zell will come a minute later. Cid will brief you about your first mission. You are to go to Timber and support a resistance faction. Remember the password 'But the owls are still around'. TALK TO CID AGAIN BEFORE YOU LEAVE. He will give you a Magical Lamp. Now get some EXP in the Fire Cavern, maybe some Bomb cards, and then SAVE when you exit. Now use the Magical Lamp. You will fight Diablos. ----------------------------BOSS TIPS: DIABLOS------------------------------- HP: 8000 WEAKNESS: gravity STRENGTH: none This boss is rather hard. The objective is to hit him by Drawing and Casting Demi. However, at the beginning, you might want to Stock since you can get anywhere from 1-9 Demis in one Stock (probably around 2, if it works). This guy is hard to draw from, 75% of the time it doesn't work. Squall can draw from him all the time, though. After he has about 500 HP left (Scan to check) finish him with attacks and maybe you can sneak in a Limit Break. Selphie's Slot limit can be great for healing. Keep choosing 'Do over' until it says 'Full-cure 1 time' and cast it. Diablos can attack for 200, cast Demi, which takes off 25% of your HP, and Gravija, which takes off 75% of everyone's HP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Diablos will join as a GF, and you get his card. Your 2nd rare card, Diablos. He has no Boost, but his attack is based on his level and the enemy's HP. It is gravity (demi) based. Now go to Balamb Town. Go left at the fork. Draw from the point, then go left. Buy stuff from the item shop if you need it. The woman near the station is the Card Queen. Talk to her and ask about the rules. You can play her as well. She has all the Lvl. 1 and Lvl. 2 cards. When you're done, talk to the guy near the station and buy a ticket. Go on the train. There will be a few scenes. Selphie will ask you to open the door. So do it. Save here, then follow Zell inside. Go inside the SeeD cabin. After a few scenes you will fall asleep.... This next scenario is Squall's 'dream'. Your party is Laguna, Kiros, and Ward. You are Galbadian Soldiers 17 years ago in the Timber Woodlands. Follow the path. There will be conversations as you walk by. The white text is Laguna talking to his pals, and the grey is Squall's thoughts. Finally, you will reach a truck. Get in it. You'll drive to Deling City. Park, then go right. In the next screen, go straight and then you will reach the Galbadian Hotel. GO in and go downstairs. Talk to the waiter and choose to sit down. Scenes will follow. Now go up and talk to Julia. Laguna is such a loser... Sit back down with Kiros and Ward. More scenes occur. Kiros and Ward leave, and Julia comes to Laguna. She asks him to go upstairs. Go up, talk to the receptionist, and ask for Julia's room. More scenes will follow upstairs. Then, the party wakes up... The group wakes up and realizes they had the same dream. Weird... but it is pertinent to the story. Anyway, exit the car, and the train. Talk to the guy in the vest and respond, you guessed it, "But the owls are still around". Follow him and board the train. You will meet Zone. Then they ask you to get the 'princess'. So go to the last room and talk to her. You'll name her, (Rinoa), and her dog (Angelo). Go back to the entrance. Watts, Zone, and Rinoa will go over the plan with the SeeD group. I'll walk you through it in the actual thing. Examine the bulletin board behind you for background info on Timber. Anyway, leave, SAVE. You can play cards with Watts and get the Angelo card. Talk to him when you are ready. Here goes... First off, go left toward Rinoa. Run left, and press X to jump. The next screen is with the blue and red sensor guards. They don't matter, all you have to do is run as quickly as possible to the other side and you won't have any problems with them. The next scene is the code unlocking. Go down. After you input 2 codes go back up. Then when the guards go back, go back down and input the final code. Watch the following scenes. The next part, you have to watch the guards and input 5 codes. After 2 codes, go up, and then if you have fast fingers, do the last three and move on. Watch the scenes. You'll be back in the base. SAVE, equip GFs, and talk to Rinoa when you are ready. She will go inside and learn that it is a fake President. He then attacks. ------------------BOSS TIPS: FAKE PRESIDENT AND GEROGERO------------------- FAKE PRESIDENT GEROGERO HP: 500 HP: 3000 WEAKNESS: none WEAKNESS: holy, water, ice STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: poison For the Fake President, Junction 100 Waters (Shiva - I-Mag RF Fish Fins, 20 Waters per Fish Fin) to Squall and Zell's strength and pound away. Then he transforms into a Gerogero. Use a Pheonix Down on Gerogero and he will die. Else you have to repeatedly summon GFs. EZ if you have a Pheonix Down. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch the following scenes. Then Rinoa will ask you to choose a 3rd character. The threesome will go into Timber. Talk to Watts to go. 1.4 timber From here, go N to buy stuff from the Pet Shop (GF supplies and Pet Pals magazines). Then, go back, and exit the screen to the right. Go straight into the Timber Maniacs store. Search the stacks of the magazines to get the magazine 'Girl Next Door'. Go in the back room to get an issue of Timber Maniacs. Exit the TImber Maniacs, and go to the adjacent house on the right. Enter, talk to the cook, go upstairs and examine the window. You will get an aerial view of your next destination. Go back down and go to the right. Here go downstairs. You'll fight two G-Soldiers. AFter that, you'll get a card, go down and buy items, and enter the pub. A scene occurs, then go toward the drunkard. Talk to him and choose the second option. He'll give you a Tonberry card and will let you pass. Go through the exit, and Save. You can play this guy at cards, he has all the lvl. 1-3 cards. Go left when you are done, then go forward, up the stairs. Watch the following scenes. GASP! Continue left and up. You'll reach the set. Zell will blow everyone's cover and Seifer runs away holding Deling hostage. Watch the following scenes. After a while, you'll be prompted to leave. Follow Quistis into the house in which you looked out of the window. TAlk to everyone there, then talk to Quistis 2 times. Watch the scenes, then talk to everyone again. Head for the exit, and watch a few more scenes. Choose your party, and leave. Talk to the soldier, who is Watts. Go right and talk to the old man, who is Zone. He'll give everyone tickets. Board the train. Talk to everyone, then talk to Zell twice. The second time, choose the 1st option. Get off at the East Academy Station. Go left into the forest. Some scenes occur, then Squall and party will fall into the 'dream world'. You'll be Laguna, Kiros, and Ward, this time in a Centra excavation site, aka Lunatic Pandora. Go down. Here, go straight. You'll be attacked. AFter the fight, go straight. In the next screen, go straight again at the 2nd fork. Go down the ladder. Go toward the camera. In the next 2 screens, just keep going to the right. After that, at the fork, go up. Then take the right path. Follow the path for another 2 scenes, then you'll reach a save point. Save, then go up. You'll be at a cliff. Then Esthar soldiers will come and you have to fight multiple battles. After those, watch the scenes. Then Squall's group will wake up. You'll be on the other side of the forest. Head West to Galbadia Garden and enter. Inside, keep going straight. After a while, you'll reach a screen with steps going up. Go up the steps. Here, go across the screen and in the door with a person next to it. Talk to Zell, then Quistis will come with news. Watch the scenes, then when you can move, talk to Rinoa. More scenes occur. Then talk to Quistis. Afterward, when you can move again after the scenes, talk to Selphie. Squall will leave the room. Go to the entrance. On your way back, you'll meet up with Fujin and Raijin. Talk with then, then go to the entrance and talk to Quistis. Follow her to the entrance. Talk to Rinoa. Then Martine will come. And he will give a brief synopsis of what is the situation. There will be some more scenes, then Irvine will be introduced. Leave, and get on the train to the side. Pay the conductor and board. Do the ID check for Selphie. She will go in. Then Irvine will come. Go after Irvine inside. THen he will leave after wooing Selphie. Then he starts hitting on Rinoa. Quistis reprimands him, and more scenes occur. Then you will be in Deling City. 1.5 the tomb of the unknown king You'll arrive at the city station in Deling City. Exit by going toward the camera. You'll see a scene of Deling City. Talk to one of your members to continue. You'll be at a scene with buses traveling to and fro. Talk to the man nearest to you. He'll inform you that this route is heading for Caraway's mansion. So go there and talk to the guard outside. He will tell you that you must go to the Tomb of the unknown King and find a gunblade number in order to enter. So leave. Go east to the jutting peninsula. There is a little door. Enter it. You'll see some people running out yelling "Float!" So go back outside, and fight some Thrustaveis. Draw about 10 Floats, then go back in, and save. Enter the tomb. If you bought a location displayer, good. Else, what you basically need to is go up, then right, then up, then right till you reach the rightmost room. BTW keep your eyes peeled for the gunblade. It has a different number and is in a different location each time you play it. When you reach the rightmost room, a statue will wake up and attack you. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: SACRED--------------------------------- HP: 2000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: earth First, cast Float on him. This prevents him from curing himself. Next, draw any magic you might want. Then blast away with GFs. After about 3-4 castings, he will run away. What a waste of space! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now exit, and continue to go right and up until you reach the topmost room. Draw from the point, (there is also a hidden one in the right corner) and examine the chain from the right side. It will fall down. Now, go right and up until you hit the leftmost room. There, examine the red dot on the left side. Now go right and down toward the entrance. When you are positive that you are precisely in the middle of the lower side (in the main hall in between the left and right sides on the lower half of the tomb), then go up. Eventually you'll reach a bridge leading to the tomb. Go in and you'll have to fight 2 statues. ------------------------BOSS TIPS: SACRED AND MINOTAUR-------------------------- SACRED MINOTAUR HP: 2000 HP: 2500 WEAKNESS: none WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: earth STRENGTH: earth Same as the previous fight. First cast float on Sacred and Minotaur. That will prevent them from healing themselves. Then draw whatever you want from them. Then bust out with your GFs. They will die soon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You will get the Sacred and Minotaur cards, your 4th and 5th rares. And the Brothers GF. Then the king will be free. Is this an attempt at conveying a moral of the game? Whatever. Leave, then go back to Deling City. 1.6 assassination Once in Deling City, you can take the buses to go to the Shopping Arcade and buy items and remodel weapons. When you are ready, go to Caraway's mansion and talk to the guard. Give him the ID number you found on the gunblade and he will let you pass. Go inside. Your party will be waiting for Caraway. Rinoa will leave once you talk to her, also disclosing the fact that this is her home and Caraway is her father. After she leaves, Caraway comes and briefs you about the mission. He will walk outside and brief you as you walk along. When the briefing is over, then do whatever you want. When you are ready, go to his house again. Scenes will occur. Squall and Irvine leave. As Quistis, go to the exit. Rinoa will come in, and some scenes will occur. NOw, as Squall, follow Caraway to the sniper team's post. Then it switches back to Quistis. She suddenly becomes a bleeding heart-liberal and decides to go back to apologize to Rinoa. So go to Caraway's mansion. But then you get locked inside! That dumb@$$ Quistis... anyway, now as Rinoa, climb up the boxes, then run right. Next, climb up the ladder, then the wall right next to you. There will be some scenes, and FMV, and some more scenes, then it will switch to Quistis. Search the glass shelf and take a cup. Go directly N and the screen will change. Examine the statue and put the cup on it. The passage will open. Go through it. Equip your GFs. Here, climb down. Examine the wheel to go up. Go up and there will be an FMV, then the scene will Switch to Squall and Irvine. In the party, follow Irvine. You will see Seifer with the sorceress. Next this is the same scene as Rinoa was at previously. Follow Irvine's lead up the boxes. When you're through climbing, go right past the body of Deling into the residence. Equip GFs. Go past the clocktower hatch and into another scene. There you will fight two bosses. -------------------------BOSS TIPS: IGUION x2------------------------------- HP: 1000 WEAKNESS: earth, holy STRENGTH: fire, water, poison Draw Carbuncle, then pound away with GFs. You could have Squall jack up his attack by junctioning the 100 Waters to his Strength and attack equally while Irvine summons Brothers GF. Easy fight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- More scenes will occur with Squall and Rinoa. THen go back to the clocktower hatch and go in. Pick up the sniper rifle. Then watch the scenes. Now you are in control of Quistis's party. Switch the junctioning, then move on. Go up. Here, go left. There should be a ladder on the side. Examine it and it will fall down. Cross it if you want to get a draw point. But don't cross it in order to progress. Go left. Next, go up through the door. Keep going up. Next, go right. Keep going right. Then you will reach a scene with 2 wheels and you are on the left side. Cross both wheels to keep going. Now just keep going down, down, down, down. Eventually you will reach the scene in which you entered the sewers from Caraway's mansion. Go right here. NExt, go across on the wheel, and go up. Keep going up. You will reach a big wheel and a save spot. SAve, then go up. Get off the ladder. You will have to get back on and go up. Transfer your GF to Squall, Irvine, and Rinoa. Upstairs, examine the window to see an FMV. Quickly examine the console to shut the gates. It switches back to Squall and Irvine. Scenes occur, then Irvine shoots. It was right on target, but Edea blocks it. Squall charges in with an FMV. Fight Seifer. He has 900 HP. Just cast a few GF and be done with him. Then you'll fight Edea with Irvine and Rinoa. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: EDEA------------------------------- HP: 4000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none Use the limit breaks of those who have their strength jacked up with Water. With the others, use GFs. She'll go down soon. Don't get cocky though. Edea can cast -aga magic (lvl. 3) and can really piss you off. Keep healing with items with one person (keep one at low HP if you want to use limits) and have the rest use GFs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch the last FMV of Disc I. Then pop in Disc II. 2: DISC II 2.1 17 years ago You will once again be in control of Laguna. There will be some scenes with Laguna and Ellone. Go downstairs and talk to her again. More scenes follow. Leave the house and go to the adjacent pub. Then Elle will follow. More scenes occur, then Kiros comes in. Laguna goes up and chats with him. When Kiros asks 'What do you want to know?' choose the last option to move on, the 2nd option to learn some shocking plot ties with Rinoa. Choose the 1st and 3rd options as well for additional conversation. When you are done, talk to Ellone and Raine, then leave. There will be a scene at the exit with Kiros and Laguna. Basically, all you have to do is keep going south until you reach the town entrance. When you reach that point, Laguna will say something that will prompt you to go back. On the way back, Kiros and Laguna talk some more. When you finally reach the pub, go upstairs and overhear a conversation between Elle and Raine. Then Laguna will make his entrance. Raine will tell the two to get some rest, so go to the room where you started Disc II and examine the bed and choose to get rest. A final scene between Laguna and Kiros occurs. 2.2 escape You will wake up as Zell in the D-District Prison. Talk to everyone, then talk to Rinoa again. Scenes will follow then it switches to a short scene with Squall. It then switches back to Zell's group. Rinoa gets taken away by the Mean Guy, and Zell gets his butt kicked by the Mean Guy. What a fighter... anyway. The scene switches to Squall and Seifer. Seifer beats around Squall for a little while, then it switches back to Zell. Talk to Quistis, then Selphie. The three will concoct a plan. Zell lures the Mean Guy inside, then decks him with a knee to the face (ooooh). Now exit. Go upstairs and you will see 2 guards examining the weapons. Make sure Zell has something junctioned to attack. Then fight the guards. Take the weapons, then the scene will switch again iff (if and only if) you chose the first option when the warden asks you something (Let Me Die). Some Moombas will free Squall. They say nothing but 'Laguna! Laguna!' Then the scene switches back again. As Zell and party, fight Biggs and Wedge. Repeatedly summon GFs and concentrate single-target attacks on Biggs. They'll go down soon. They'll exit, and the alarm will go off. Here, keep going up each floor. Do this by going all the way around starting from the stairs, then go up the next flight. Along the way, the other cells will have draw points, save points, and people who will either play cards, sell items, or sit and do nothing. The card player in Floor 11 has all the L5 cards. It costs 200 gil to play him, but you get items for beating him. After you reach Floor 12, follow the Moomba. He will lead you to Laguna. Rescue Squall and talk to the Moomba on the right for shortcuts to other levels. There will be some more scenes, then you will be Squall in the cell. Press the red button in front. Go down, when you exit, go right. After more scenes, you will be Zell. As Zell, run back around. The guard will probably catch you. Fight him, then move on. In the next screen, you'll get KO'd by the Warden. Then Squall comes and kills him. Then more scenes come. Irvine reappears with Rinoa. Make a new party, then go all the way back up to Floor 12. When you reach Floor 12 and go up some more, then the scene will switch to Irvine's party. Here, you need to go all the way down. SAVE on the way. There is another card player somewhere, but it costs more (500 gil) to play him and he doesn't have good cards. At Level 2, the scene will switch back to Squall. Up here, talk to the Moomba for a Rename Card. Go up and outside. You will fight a boss. ----------------------BOSS TIPS: GIM52A x2 & ELITE SOLDIER------------------ GIM52A x2 ELITE SOLDIER HP: 2000 HP: 300 WEAKNESS: lightning, earth, water WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: poison STRENGTH: none Kill off the Elite Soldier by summoning and Boosting Brothers GF. That kills him off and does 700 damage to the GIM52A's. Then repeatedly summon Brothers and Quezacotl. You may have to heal throughout the battle because the GIM52A's attacks can hurt. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There will be some more scenes. Go inside and Zell will tell you how to operate the console, or he will just do it himself. Then, go outside and cross the bridge. More scenes and an FMV occur. Keep crossing the bridge. Eventually you will make it. Then there will be a scene with all 6 people. They will leave in 2 cars. Eventually they will reach a fork. More scenes happen. Talk to Selphie. THen the missiles to Trabia will launch. Choose the parties, then you will control Squall's group. Go left and hijack the train. You're off! 2.3 missile base You will now control Selphie's group in a car. If you want, you can go to Deling City and lose your Ifrit card to Caraway, and get the Rinoa card. If you do so, don't worry, you can get it back later. But you can perform this action anytime you want, that is, uptil Disc III. So now drive to the MIssile base. Enter. Go left inside the door. There, save. Examine the left door. Then examine the slot to the right of it. Examine the left door. Go in. Choose whatever when the game prompts you. Whatever you do, the guard will stop you. Go on down. Then go to the left of the steps you came from and go down. Talk to the 2 guys there. Then go up and go in the middle door. Talk to the guy in the back. Choose the 1st option. Go back and talk to the first 2 guys. What dumb@$$es! Now go up and go in the room where the 1st guard you saw is. He will leave. Go in and do whatever. After a while the maintenance guys will come in. Choose the bottom option 2x. Then go right and down. There will be some scenes with the soldiers. Move past the door. The guard will come and ask for your help. Help him push the missile in place. Then leave and examine the panel. Set error ratio to max and upload data. Then go left and up. You will have to fight some guards. Then examine the leftmost panel. The missile launch will be aborted. Then go in the next room. Examine the far left corner and choose a time limit. 10 is cutting it close if you didn't attack anyone, else be conservative and choose 20 minutes. Then theere will be a separate scene in which the dying guard reactivates the missile launch. Then you will be transported back to the entrance. If you didn't set the error ratio, you will have to go back, talk to the wounded guard near the console, and get his ID. Then examine the panel, max the error ratio, then upload and leave. Once you exit you will fight a boss. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: BGH251F2------------------------------ HP: 7000 WEAKNESS: lightning, earth, water STRENGTH: poison This guy can be tough. Repeatedly summon Brothers and Quezacotl. Every 1000 damage, a tower will blow up. The main cannon does 900 so watch out. Irvine's Shot - Shotgun Ammo is EXTREMELY useful. Selphie's Slot can help as well. After blowing up the machine, the guards themselves will attack. Just summon a GF or two, or Irvine's Shotgun Ammo, and toast them. End. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you defeat it, some more scenes occur, and then the game switches over to Squall's group in Balamb. 2.4 warn balamb Enter Balamb Garden. You'd better equip your GF. Keep going straight. When you are asked which side you are on, choose option 2. Go in and talk to Fujin and Raijin. Go around to each area starting from the right. You have to fight a battle in each area. Then go on forward until you reach the reinforcements in each area. Do that in a counterclockwise. After the infirmary, go toward the elevator and you will see Xu going up. Go up and go through the passages. Go past the classroom to another screen. There will be some scenes with Xu. Go back to the elevator and go up to the 3rd floor. Cid will be there. He will tell you what to do. Go back in the elevator. It will short out. Examine the console, then the hatch and climb down. Here, go towards the camera, examine the next hatch, and climb down. Go through the pipes till you reach...another ladder! Climb down. Go down, down, down, in the door. Examine the wheel. It may take a few tries for you to get the wheel to spin. After you do, go back out. And....climb down! Go down, and draw from the point as you go around the post. There will be a scene near the next ladder. No matter what you choose, Squall will go alone. As you climb up, you will fall across. Examine the console in the room where you are. Then climb back down. Examine the green light once you are back down. Climb down. Here, Save, then pull the lever. Go toward the door. You'll be attacked. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: OILBOYLE x2------------------------------ HP: 3232 WEAKNESS: fire STRENGTH: water This is easy. Put 100 Fires in Squall's Elem Atk-J, and jack up his strength with 100 Waters. Have him do Renzokuken at low HP. Have others cast Ifrit and any other GF. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go through the door. Down the ladder. Examine the console in random parts to move on. Scenes will occur. The Garden flies! Long scenes occur, finally when you can move again, SAve and go downstairs. Go toward the elevator where you'll be stopped by a robed man. He'll tell you to go to the B1 level. Go to the elevator, it will automatically take you down. There, you will see scenes with Cid and a Garden advocate. Then follow the advocate to NORG. Lots of scenes with NORG here, then he will attack. ----------------------BOSS TIPS: NORG & LEFT/RIGHT ORBS----------------------- NORG ORBS HP: 8600 HP: 1200 WEAKNESS: wind WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: poison STRENGTH: everything Every time the orbs turn red, attack them so they will go back to blue. After doing 2000 damage to the NORG pod, NORG will appear. Draw Leviathan from him. Cast Quezacotl, Brothers, and throw in a few limits if you want with Aero junctioned to Elem Atk. Some attacks of his are damaging, but use Carbuncle to thwart most of them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He'll die. Then go back up. Go to the infirmary and talk to Dr. Kadowaki. Then talk to Cid. Ask him whatever. Then leave and go to the entrance. Xu will meet you and tell you to go to the 2F deck. So go there. There will be a White SeeD ship here. More scenes occur, then Cid asks you to find Ellone. She is in the library in the back room. Talk to her, and some scenes will follow. Then the White SeeDs will take her with them. LONG scenes occur afterwards. Then someone from your party comes and talks to you. Now, exit your dorm and go to the 3F bridge. Watch some FMVs as Balamb crashes into... 2.5 fisherman's horizon There will be some scenes with Cid. Go down to 2F and go to the deck. It is in the hallway past the classroom; the end door. Talk to the FH reps and follow them. There will be an FMV on your way. Go down the steps and talk to the man operating the lift to go down. NExt, go across the screen. There will be some steps at the end, LONG ones, after going down those you can reach the mayor's house. If you went ahead and already lost your Ifrit card to Caraway, you can retrieve it here by playing Martine, who is at the right exit of the current screen. Now go into the house and up the steps. A short conversation occurs between your party and Mayor Dobe. Afterward, play him to get the Quezacotl card. Dobe will tell you to leave, but as you're going up the steps, Galbadian Soldiers attack. Dobe says he will try to reason with them. What a retard! Anyway, chase after him to the right. AFter some time you will see him getting hit by a Galbadian soldier. Join in and attack him. After that fight, you will have to fight the same machine Selphie's party did in the Missile Base. Refer to section 2.3 on tips for 'BGH251F2'. After that fight...surprise! Your missile party emerges. Afterward, Squall and Rinoa are left. TAlk to her. Maybe you can just ignore her and go back to the ship but I doubt it. After that, go back to the garden. On the way back, you'll meet up with Irvine. So when you enter, go to the quad and talk to Selphie. Choose whatever you want for different scenes, then go up and talk to Cid. There will be some short scenes, and then there will be some scenes with the other party members, planning a treat for Squall's promotion... choose instruments for all of them. If you choose the top 4 or the bottom 4, a different tune is played. If you mix them, I don't know what it is. I am not sure if the music affects the conversation that will follow... Now as Squall in his dorm, leave and talk to Rinoa. Go to the FH and talk to Irvine. Go down the steps and go right to Martine's position. Examine the magazine for some looong scenes... When you wake up the next morning, go to the bridge. There will be some scenes, and now you will be in control of the Garden. Controls will be displayed. Choose your destination. You could go to the Shumi Village to the far north, which I discuss in section 6.3, or try to get GF Tonberry and GF Odin, but I wouldn't recommend that until disc III. I discuss it in section 6.2 though. But your main destination is Balamb City. 2.6 balamb city You must have Zell in your party. You will notice it is occupied by Galbadian soldiers. TO enter, talk to the soldier, then talk to the 2 civilians, then talk to the guard again. He will tell you to look for the commander. Voila! Go in and go in the 2nd house to the right (little caves). Play Zell's Ma in cards for the Zell card. Go outside and talk to all the guards. Now go to the hotel and talk to the guards there. They'll tell you to find the captain. Go further right now and talk to the guards and the dog at the bay. Go to Zell's House again and talk to Ma. She will say something about fish and a funny smell. Now, go to the train station and talk to the guards and the station manager. Talk to the station manager twice. Now go all the way back down to the bay. Talk to the dog. Follow it to the train station and...Raijin pops out! Now go back to the hotel. First make sure your GFs are equipped. Then talk to the guards. Some short scenes will follow, then you'll fight Raijin and 2 guards. --------------------BOSS TIPS: RAIJIN & SOLDIER x2------------------------- RAIJIN SOLDIER HP: 5600 HP: 300 WEAKNESS: poison WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: lightning STRENGTH: none GFs and Limits here. Equip 50 Bios to Squall and Zell's Elem-Atk, and 100 Waters to their attack, and have them use Limits when their HP is low. Have your third party member summon Leviathan, or Diablos. Be careful in choosing whether to use the Limit oppurtunity or to heal. A good tactic is to use Limit with one character and have the next character heal him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go inside the hotel. There will be some scenes, then Raijin and Fujin attack you. ----------------------BOSS TIPS: FUJIN & RAIJIN---------------------------- FUJIN RAIJIN HP: 4800 HP: 5600 WEAKNESS: poison WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: wind STRENGTH: lightning First of all, draw Pandemona GF from Fujin. Then vanquish her with Limits. GF Diablos, Leviathan, perform well here. Irvine's Limit Scatter Shot (Shotgun Ammo) is good for overall damage. If he has any Dark Ammo, that would help as well. If you have Pain Magic (ST-Mag RF - Mystery Fluid - Card Mod Gayla) equip it in St-Atk. NOt that hard of a fight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the scenes that follow, go to the Garden. Go to the bridge and talk to Selphie. She will ask to go to Trabia Garden. Honor her request and do so! 2.7 battle of the gardens Enter Trabia. Selphie will come if she isn't already in your party. Climb the fence after her. Then go on down to the Garden. Talk to Selphie's friend and choose whatever. Play her for the Selphie card. Keep going left of Selphie to get to the basketball courts. Try to leave, then Selphie comes. Okay, here come some LOOOOOOOOOOONG scenes. When you do get a chance to do something, as ghost Squall, follow the kids around and talk to the little Squall whenever necessary. The plot unravels... After the LONG LONG LONG scenes, head south to Edea's House. Nearby is Galbadia Garden, and you must contend with them first. Ram into them, and some scenes will occur on the bridge. Then give your orders. Go down from the bridge and talk to Quistis. Then go to the Quad. Talk to Zell there and there will be some scenes. Then you must report to the bridge again. Watch some FMVs, and then the game will switch to Zell. As Zell, go to the very end of the quad. There will be an FMV, and Rinoa will fall and grab onto the side. Go back to the front gate where Squall is. There will be some scenes, and you'll choose a new party. With that party, go upstairs to the 2F classroom (Quistis's Classroom). There, you'll see a killer FMV. Fight with the soldieres, then talk to the SeeD and tell her to hide at a safe place. Now go back to the bridge where you'll talk to Dr. Kadowaki. Go up where you'll give a 'rousing' speech. There will be some more scenes, then as Squall go to the 2F deck. Talk to the kid there, and a soldier will attack. *Minigame*. Press O, then choose to look around, press O quickly again and choose to hit the emergency switch. Now, you must fight the Galbadian soldier. One way to defeat is to alternate blocks and attacks, another is to repeatedly block and use a Deathblow. At the end, Squall will save Rinoa and the 2 will land safely. Now you must run to the left. Some scenes occur, you'll name Squall's ring, and enter the Garden. Here, you'll meet up with the other members. Choose the party and Save. From here, go right. Go in the 2nd door and up the first flight of stairs where you'll meet Fujin and Raijin. Go left and go in the 2nd door. Talk to the student and get Card Key #1. Now go back and save. Go left from here and open the 2nd door. Cross the hockey court. Exit into the hallway. Here, go in the first door and talk to the student to get Card Key #2. Exit and go down till you reach the Save point again, then go right and in the 2nd door, this time go past Fujin and Raijin and up the 2nd flight of stairs. HEre, go left across the tennis courts. Next, run towards the camera. Look familiar? Dejavu from Disc I. Go straight past the staircase. You'll see a BIG monster. Go around it and save. Examine it to fight a boss GF. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: CERBERUS----------------------------- HP: 8000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: lightning, wind This guy is really hard. Use Dispel after he casts Triple on himself, otherwise he might cast Quake 3x in a row. Cast Carbuncle to bounce off his spells. Use GFs like Leviathan and Diablos. If HPs are low, use Limits. Heal often. His attacks are pretty powerful. If you have something like 100 Curagas in your HP, then you'll coast by easily. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you got Cerberus and his card. Go back and save. Go in the west passage. Go in the last door to get Card Key #3 from the student. Now go up those stairs (Disc I, waiting room) and go left. Go in the elevator. Save, then you'll fight Seifer. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: SEIFER------------------------------- HP: 4600 WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: none Seifer is pretty easy. Nail him with Squall's Renzokuken and Zell's Duel. Have another person use GFs and heal. Sometimes Seifer will use his special limit, I forget what. Anyway, it does about 600, so watch out. He is pretty easy, don't need to worry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go back down the elevator. Go right and around to the auditorium. Rinoa will come if she isn't already in your party, and then Edea will come down and Seifer joins her to attack you. ------------------------BOSS TIPS: SEIFER & EDEA--------------------------- SEIFER EDEA HP: 4600 HP: 6000 WEAKNESS: poison WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: none This battle gets a little tougher. First, you can only attack Seifer. Use the same method as was presented above. When Seifer kicks the bucket, go for Edea. First draw GF Alexander from her. Draw and cast Demi from her as well. Use GFs too. Watch out, some of her attacks are pretty powerful. If your strength is jacked up really high, use Limit Breaks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some odd developments occur.... and then its time to pop in Disc III. 3: DISC III 3.1 matron Disc III starts with Squall lying in his bed, thinking his various thoughts. When you regain control, exit the Garden and venture towards Edea's house. Go in. AFter some time, Cid comes, and follow him. Talk to him and Edea for some scenes. There will be some long conversations. When you can move, play Cid for the Seifer card and Edea for the Edea card. Then leave. Go on the Garden and examine Rinoa. Then the game will prompt you for a junction exchange, signaling a start of another flashback. This is rather short. After the scenes, there will be a short minigame where you fight a dragon. Just keep attacking and kill him. Block if you find necessary. Then Kiros and Ward come. Choose to wait a second and check your GF and save. Then attack the dragon. BTW, I tried, you can't run. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: RUBY DRAGON--------------------------- HP: ~10000 WEAKNESS: ice, holy, demi STRENGTH: fire, wind This dude is not that hard at your current level. Use GF Diablos, Shiva, and Alexander. Boost all 3 and fry him! Use Limits if your HP gets too low. Waste of space! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- More scenes, then you wake up. There will be more scenes with Squall. Go back to Edea's House and ask Edea for the Sorceress Letter. She will give it to you and tell you to search in Centra for the White SeeD ship. Centra is the 'backward-C' shaped group of islands just north of your current position. The ship is randomly placed, I can't help you find it here. When you do, however, board it. The SeeD captain will tell you to leave. Pursue him, and you will run into Zone and Watts. More scenes happen, then Zone runs upstairs. If you didn't get it in Disc I, get Angelo Card from Watts here. Go upstairs and give the 'Girl Next Door' to Zone for free and receive the Shiva card. Now talk to the White SeeD leader (below deck), and some long scenes occur. When they are done, you'll find yourself on the Garden. Go down and examine Rinoa again. There will be some more LOOONNG scenes. The next day the others will meet up with you. Edea is now a usable character! Betcha can't wait to try her out... Go on straight, save, and enter the Great Salt Lake. Here, the path looks complicated, but its actually pretty simple. Keep going straight until you reach a peak. At the peak, try to exit to the LEFT of the screen. Then go on straight. A boss will come and attack you. -------------------------------BOSS TIPS: ABADON----------------------------- HP: 7000 WEAKNESS: fire, holy STRENGTH: death EASY FIGHT! Just use an X-Potion on him. If you are conservative and do not want to use an X-Potion, use Hi-Potions, Potions, cast Alexander and Ifrit until it is eviscerated. Oh wait, you can't eviscerate a pile of bones... Another waste of space. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go straight. You'll reach another peak. Examine the tip for some weird scenes. Climb up into the portal. Go straight. There will be some more freaky scenes. There will also be one really sweet FMV of the Esthar City. Yup, you've found it. When you get off the platform, you'll go back in time again. 3.2 esthar You'll be Laguna emprisoned in the Lunatic Pandora Research Laboratory. Talk to the guard on the right, then on the left. After some time, talk to the Moomba. More scenes. Talk to the guy on the left. Then talk to the Moomba again. More scenes. Now some action. Fight the guards. Fight more guards. Yay, Kiros and Ward are back. Go up the elevator and exit the building. After some more scenes, enter the lab again. Pick up the magazine nearby 'Weapons Mon 1st', worth 50000 Gil, and go down. You'll fight more guards, but they're easy. Odine will try to escape, so follow him up. There will be some more scenes, and then Odine will tell you to go to the O-Lab. So after some time, you'll find yourself there. Sit on the pedestal to go up. There, go in and fight some soldiers. Go forward, you will realize that you can't get to Ellone. Go back and examine the console. Then go down and open the door to get to Ellone. More scenes occur, and then Squall will wake up. There will be some scenes with Edea and an escort. He will lead you to the Presidential Residence. After some discussion with Odine, he will tell you to go to the Lunar Gate. So leave. Explore the city and buy some spazzy stuff. When you're done, go to the city entrance, rent a car if you wish, and head east to the Lunar Gate. Once inside, follow the lady to the chamber. There will be some scenes. You will have to choose whether or not Zell should escort Edea. It doesn't matter, he ends up doing it anyway. So go up with another member into the chambers, and watch the sweet FMV that follows. While that party goes to the moon, other events occur on earth... With Zell, Edea, and another person of your choosing, exit the Lunar Gates and go to the Esthar City and go west to the Odine Laboratory. Play cards with Odine to get the Ward Card. Then talk to him to receive a briefing. Then leave. Outside, press square to keep the scene checker on. Now, to get to the first cross point, (increasing SeeD rank by the most), go straight and make a right at the next screen. Here, if you go right, you'll end up on the 2nd point. But if you go straight, then left at the 3-fork screen, then right at the next screen, keep going right across the screen and eventually you'll reach the 1st check point. The final one is 2-3 screens N of the shopping center. Once inside Lunatic Pandora, go in the left elevator. Then go left and up. Save at the next screen, then at the fork go up. You will encounter a huge monster (Mobile Type 8, a boss you will fight later), and it will throw you out of it. Watch the following FMV, then the screen switches to the group in space... 3.3 weightless After some sweet FMVs, you will be aboard the Lunar Center (don't remember the exact name). There will be some more scenes and FMVs, then talk to the guy in the white lab coat (Piet), then turn and examine Rinoa. Next, you will find yourself in the Med Room. Place Rinoa in the room behind Piet. Then you can Save, and play Piet in cards for the Alexander card. Then follow Piet around the Lunar base and eventually you'll reach...Ellone! Play her for the Laguna card, then talk to her for some scenes and add her to your group. Go in the controller room (exit, down stairs) and talk to Piet and the controllers. Then examine the screen near your other member. Then talk to Ellone. Leave, and as you make your way to the Med Lab, something weird happens...really weird. Go on, and you will see, well, some form of Rinoa slouching through the hall. Don't try to stop her, there's no use. Follow her into the control room where you'll see her deactivate Seal 1. Examine the console near your other member and leave. Go up and watch another FMV. Then go in the room near the dead body and get a spacesuit. Follow Rinoa out. Unfortunately, she escapes and you must turn back. Go back to Ellone and she will escort you to an escape pod. Watch some more FMVs. Save, then board the pod. Then watch some LOOOONG scenes when you talk to Ellone. After Squall leaves the pod, there will be some scenes and a minigame in which you have to 'catch' Rinoa (you are the tiny one approaching the screen, kinda confusing). Watch the following FMV, then board the spaceship, the Ragnarok. Inside, save, then head for the door and pull the switch. Enter and remove the spacesuits. Now go ahead, when you'll see a frightening monster... All right, here is the scoop on the monsters, the Propagators. Similar to what I am about to give you is a sheet found somewhere on the ship with the same info. Basically, this is it in a nutshell. There are 8 Propagators, 2 of each color, red, purple, green, orange. You MUST kill both of the SAME color CONSECUTIVELY in order for them not to revive. If you kill a red, then a green, the other red will revive the first red. You must kill BOTH reds for BOTH reds to never be revived again. So, here goes! First, equip your GFs. Then go down the steps. Wait, don't fight the purple one yet, go back up and fight the red one there. Tips for Propagators: Use the Boosting Technique or a Turbo Controller with Alexander or Leviathan. Mug some Wizard Stones with Squall if you can. They have about 2500 HP if Squall is at Level 20. Then go down. Run past the purple one to the big door at the north end. If you get attacked, then do it over again. Go in, and there will be another red one here. Kill it. 2 down, 6 to go. Go back into the big room and kill the purple one. Go back through the large door and go left to kill the other purple one. 4 down, 4 to go. Go left and kill the green one just standing there. Exit to the south, go down the stairs, and go in the tiny door to the right of the large door to fight the other green monster. 6 down, 2 to go. Save, then exit, go up the stairs, in the door (which is now unlocked), and go in the left door to kill an orange monster. If you go up, you can examine a sheet of paper with similar info about the monsters. Exit to the S, then S again, then S again, and you'll see an orange monster facing the other way. Kill it. Voila! All dead. Now go up to the cockpit for some ETERNALLY LONG scenes. You'll find out many things as the plot unravels... When you land, Rinoa will be taken. Go back up the stairs and in the room left of the cockpit. More scenes occur here. Then you'll have to go to the Esthar Memorial. Go in, run to the left of the engineers and run up to Rinoa. Press O repeatedly, and she will come out. After your grand escape, go to Edea's House. There will be some more scenes here. Then another member will come and tell you that the Esthar president wants to speak to you. But don't do that yet! Well, actually you can, but there are lots of side quests to do first. You can still do them after you talk to the president, though. 3.4 lunatic pandora Before you talk to the president, some tips on some side quests: Balamb Garden - now the CC group will challenge you. There are 7 members: Jack - the one who told you about it. In the lobby. Club - In the back gates of the garden, near the dorms. Diamond - two of them. Near the directory. Spade - on the 2F bridge. Heart - Xu. On the 3F bridge. Get the Carbuncle card from her. King - Quistis. Go to your dorm, be left alone, and sleep. Keep sleeping until she comes. You can play her on the 3F bridge afterward. She has the Gilgamesh card. Joker - Randomly appears in the Training Center. Get Leviathan from him. He upgrades your battle meter to include GFs (supposedly). Islands Closest to Heaven and Hell: These monsters are at level 100, so watch out! It is a good place to gain exp. and AP, though. A good beginning strategy is to use Quistis' Limit Degenerator, instant kill. When you Level up to 40, then use Doomtrain to leave them like a vegetable, and use Gfs to waste them. When you're at L80, then you can just use Limits to vanquish them. ICHell is the westernmost island of the Galbadian coast, and ICHeaven is the small island east of the Grandidi Forest in North Esthar. ICHell is better for exp. and ap. There are also hidden draw points. Equip Enc-None, then go around pressing O repeatedly to find all the hidden draw points. Powerful magic. Go to Esthar's Presidential Palace and go left past the guards. Talk to the President Laguna Loire. GASP! TAlk to him, and he can answer some questions about the plot. Then choose the briefing and Odine will come in. After that, you'll be on the Ragnarok. Go back in and play cards with Laguna for the Squall card. This is your last chance for side quests! When ready, ram Lunatic Pandora for a killer FMV. Exit the Ragnarok and fight Fujin and Raijin. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: FUJIN & RAIJIN-------------------------- FUJIN RAIJIN HP: 18000 HP: 22000 WEAKNESS: poison WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: lightning STRENGTH: lightning Concentrate single attacks, like Limits, on one person. You can use spread attacks, but they will be less effective in putting out these two. Raijin is powerful, and Fujin has strong magic. Use Curaga/Megalixirs effectively. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go straight on, then head left. You'll see Biggs and Wedge at the bottom. Even if you talk to them, they won't fight you. Go on and save. Then go left and straight (don't turn off) down. Take the left elevator here. Look familiar? Think Laguna in the 2nd flashback...Go up, and save, then up at the fork. You'll fight a boss. ------------------------BOSS TIPS: MOBILE TYPE 8 & PROBES---------------------- MOBILE TYPE 8 LEFT/RIGHT PROBES: HP: 45000 HP: 10000 WEAKNESS: lightning WEAKNESS: STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: none Go for the body, Mobile Type 8. He fires pretty hard, but using the 100 Megalixirs from Bahamut should ease your mind. Don't use them frugally. Hope you have juiced up limits for the core body part. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Continue straight, and you will find Seifer. A sequence follows, and the battle commences... --------------------------------BOSS TIPS: SEIFER------------------------------ HP: 50000 WEAKNESS: poison STRENGTH: none This guy is tough. If you have Odin, then he will come, only to get sliced up by Seifer. Keep drawing Aura from him and whack him. If you don't have Odin, he will simply fall over. If you did, then Gilgamesh comes and takes Odin's sword, he will strike away Seifer for the final blow. Whack Seifer with Limits and magic. Ultima, Meteor, whatever you have works. Coupled with Triple and Expend-3 1, you are lethal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He then kidnaps Rinoa... 4: DISC IV 4.1 the beginning of the end Go back out from here. You'll be back in the Mobile Type 8 room. Go right and up the ladder. Then on the ramp. Go right, then straight for a sequence, and an FMV...then you will fight the dreaded Adel. -------------------------------BOSS TIPS: ADEL-------------------------------- HP: 60000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none If you don't have Aura or high strength, you are in deep deep trouble. You need Limits for this, because if you hurt Rinoa enough with GF attacks, she will die and you will lose. Use concentrated magic like Flare and Holy with Triple. Irvine shines here with Pulse Ammo and strength. A LionHeart wouldn't hurt either. Heal Rinoa from time to time, because Adel drains her HP constantly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rinoa is freed, and time kompression begins....you will fight many easy Sorceresses successively, then the last is a huge boss. Just whack it like normal, the countdown is to Ultima, so watch out. When the time kompression ends, you will be at Edea's House...in the future, except...there are dead bodies strewn everywhere, and a dark castle looms in the sky. Journey onward! Or first, do a few side quests (6.8). 4.2 ultimecia's castle IMHO, the BEST last level! Screw Cleft of Dimensions, this rocks! NOTE: you can fight Omega at any given time. See 5.2. Enter the castle and choose 2 parties. I would suggest beef one up, because this strategy will have you using only one party mostly. With this group, MAX their strength. You'll need it, since the only thing you can do is Attack because the rest is sealed. Attack the first boss. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: SPHINXARA--------------------------- HP: 20000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none Easy guy. Keep attacking. Don't drop HP, because you can't perform Limit Breaks. Attack him, and he will change form. Attack him more, and he will die. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- *NOTE: After this boss, you don't have to fight anymore in order to face Ultimecia. But it will be a pain in the ass for you. Trust me. Remove the seal GF. Trust me, they are reliable in times like this. Equip Enc-None, if you haven't already. Go straight, then on the chandelier. You will fall down. Open the hatch on the ground, go down to fight a boss. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: TRI-POINT------------------------ HP: 20000 WEAKNESS: varies STRENGTH: varies This guy is really tough. You have no healing whatsoever. What you have to do is watch what element he is NOT using and hit him with the respective GF. Thank goodness for GF's. Glad you followed my instructions, eh? If you had removed Magic, that would've worked, but GF's protect you while summoned. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the seal Magic. You will need magic for your next opponent. Go back to base (beginning point) and go through the right stairs. Oh, to get to the beginning point, go back up, then in the left door, then down. Going through the stairs, you will reach an art gallery. Go past it. Then go down in the basement (with a water gate). Go in the left door. It locks behind you. Get the key on the statue. Turn around to fight a boss. -------------------------BOSS TIPS: RED GIANT---------------------------- HP: 40000 WEAKNESS: gravity STRENGTH: everything else If you don't have Demi magic or Diablos, restart. You are screwed, even with Eden. Diablos does 9999, and Demi does too. Triple + Demi and Diablos screws him over in 2 rounds. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the seal Limit. Now you can do Aura+Limit. Go back in the art gallery. Examine all the paintings, then go to the large unnamed paintings. Think hard about this, there is a garden, it depicts a sleepy mood, and it is symbolic of something...(balamb garden). The answer is VIVIDARIUM INTERVIGILIUM VIATOR (In the Garden Sleeps A Messenger). Ahhh! Turn around to fight a boss. ----------------------------BOSS TIPS: TRAUMA & DROMAS---------------------- TRAUMA DROMA HP: 30000 HP: 3000 WEAKNESS: wind WEAKNESS: wind STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: none I don't need to tell you what to do. Limits! When you kill it off, it will drain a Droma. Then hit it with Tornado or Pandemona. It'll drain another Droma. Kill it for the last time with Tornado/Pandemona. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the seal Item. Megalixirs are back! Thank goodness. Heal up, then go back to base. Now, time for switch party. Equip the weak ones with Enc-None, then have them go on the chandelier and fall. Have them stand on the switch point and switch parties. With this party, go across the chandelier. It will not fall. Go out and fight another boss. -------------------------------BOSS TIPS: KRYSTA---------------------------- HP: 16000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: ice This one is weak, but has strong magic. You'll have to deck it quick with Limits. Use Megalixirs freely. Don't use Blizzaga or Shiva or whatever else. Just don't! It's horrible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the seal Resurrect. Just in case, ya know? So, here's the next technical part. The party with more girls (they weigh less, you'll see), starting from base, should go up and left. Then go on through the paths until they reach two switch points. Go to the left one and switch. The party with more guys from base, should go through the art gallery, and through the left door in the next screen, across, then stand on the other switch. Switch to girls, and have them get the flood key inside the room. Now, with your main party, go to the basement (where you hit Red Giant) and pull the left lever right near that door. Now, go back, fall down the chandelier, and go in the middle room up ahead. Get the key and keep moving. Go up the steps and you will reach a bridge eventually. You'll see a SeeD fall off the bridge (you have to move forward in order for him to fall). Now go to the basement with the lever and all and pick up the key. Use it on the right door to get to a boss. -------------------------BOSS TIPS: GARGANUTUA------------------------------ HP: 20000 WEAKNESS: holy, fire STRENGTH: none Easy guy. Cast Triple Holy, Triple Flare, or smack him with limits. He can do some bad status effects once he changes from Vysage to Garganutua. Not that hard though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove the seal...well..it doesn't matter from here. Now, from base, go up and left, same way to the girl's switch in that little elevator thing. Except, stop in the long corridor and open the side door. Here, there are 4 coffins. You have to get all 4 open. Try it, here is the winning combo: Examine #2, #3, #4, #1, #4. Then fight a boss. --------------------------BOSS TIPS: CATOBLEPAS--------------------------- HP: 38500 WEAKNESS: earth, fire, water STRENGTH: lightning Not that hard. He uses strong magic, but it won't hurt you more than 2000 damage. Hit him with limits, and Brothers, Ifrit, and Leviathan GF if you wish. Easy fight. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Remove whatever seal you wish. Then, remember where the guy fell? Go there, except cross the bridge this time. Go up the stairs, long way. When you see a bell from above, hop on it to go across (line up with it and examine). On the other side is the final boss. ------------------------------BOSS TIPS: TIAMAT--------------------------- HP: 50000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none When 'Dark Flare' spells out above, you are in trouble. You gotta nail him with limits. He is really strong, so feel free to use Megalixirs. Triple Magic, and Limits will be most successful here. Can't help you too much on this one, really though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go back, then continue on your way. Cross the clock and climb downward. Go down, down down, then cross the grand open hall to reach a save. Recooperate (fully equip all 6 people with Scrolls, use abilities to upg. scrolls), and proceed. Tip: If you want the stat HP+80%, buy 3 Giant's rings and upg. them using Eden. Do so with others as well. Your 3 main guys should be toned down only a little, like ridding of unnecessary magic and GF's. The sequence with Ultimecia commences... --------------------------BOSS TIPS: ULTIMECIA----------------------------- HP: 40000 WEAKNESS: gravity STRENGTH: none Nail her with Diablos, Demi, and the like. Draw Demi from her if you wish. Be warned, this is the last battle in which your GF's can stand the hits without using Holy War. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then Ultimecia summons the mighty GF, also the name of Squall's ring... ---------------------BOSS TIPS: GRIEVER (or whatever)---------------------- HP: 65000 WEAKNESS: wind STRENGTH: earth Nail him with Triple-Tornado, and Limits come into play here. When the ground shakes, he will do Shockwave Pulsar, and if you are under 8000 HP you are dead. All hail Mega Pheonix! Use it if necessary. If you can survive Shockwave Pulsar, you're in good shape. Keep nailing him with Draw-Tornado, and Triple Tornado. You know what's a great idea? Holy War. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then, Ultimecia junctions herself unto Griever... --------------------------BOSS TIPS: ULTIMECIA & HEXENS-------------------- ULTIMECIA HEXEN HP: 95000 HP: 7000 WEAKNESS: none WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none STRENGTH: none Ultimecia, the core, will summon Hexens near the beginning. Once there are two, get prepared. Every turn or so she will cast Great Collision, or something, mucho damage, like 6000 to all. So watch for it. Holy War is nice here too. At the end, when the Hexens are gone and she has 5000 HP or so, her head pops off and you get to fight that. Gruesome! Yay! Beat it, and then the last fight.... * Actually, I don't know if they're really called Hexens. I think they are. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new lifeform emerges from the shards of time... ---------------------------BOSS TIPS: ULTIMECIA---------------------------- HP: 200000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none This is a long boring battle. She whacks you down to 1 HP every other turn. Holy War, and Aura + Triple. Nail with limits. If you get a LionHeart, that would help a lot. Else, it'll jsut take you longer to kill her. Near the end, she'll start talking, and another 'Ultimecia' will appear. This has the ultimate magic, Apocalypse, you can draw it, but stocking is useless. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch the *sniff* touching ending. Pat yourself on the back ONLY if you got everything, b/c i could whizz through this game in 25 hours if i wanted to. 5: WEAPONS 5.1 ultima weapon Before fighting Ultima Weapon, refine the Gilgamesh card to 10 Holy Wars and Bahamut to 100 Megalixirs. Now, raise all HP to 9999 and all Strength to at least 180. Follow the Eden side quest to reach Ultima Weapon. Make sure Squall has 'Initiative' and 'Triple' magic, member 2 (Zell) 'Aura', member 3 (Irvine) 'Item' to use Holy war. Attack! --------------------------BOSS TIPS: ULTIMA WEAPON------------------------ HP: ~100000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none First turn. Squall, with Initiative, should cast Triple on Zell, who should cast Aura on all three members. Irvine should use Holy War. That makes you invincible. Two rounds of Limit Breaks usually finishes Ultima. Have Irvine use Pulse Ammo, and Zell use a nice combo as follows: Dolphin Blow, Mach Kick, Dolphin Blow, Heel Drop, Mach Kick, Dolphin Blow, Different Beat (approx. 24000 damage). Or you can use a Punch Rush-Booya repeatedly (same amount). Don't forget to draw Eden! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- You get Eden, his card, 100 Ultima Stones, and 100 AP. 5.2 omega weapon In Ultimecia Castle in Disc IV, you can fight Omega Weapon. In order to do so, you will need to have the following stats and people (b/c their limits are the best): Squall Zell Irvine HP: 9999 HP: 9999 HP: 9999 Str: ~200 Str: ~200 Str: ~200 Wpn: Lion Heart Wpn: Ehrgeiz Wpn: Exeter Limit: Lion Heart Limit: any Limit: Hyper Shot (Pulse Ammo) Magic: Triple Magic: Aura Item: Holy War* *You can get Holy Wars by refining the Gilgamesh Card. Attack Attack Attack ----- ----- ----- Magic Magic ----- ----- ----- Item -Stat +60% -Stat +60% -Stat +60% -Initiative -Spd +40% -Spd +20% With your fighting party, stand on the switch point near the fountain. With the other party (your crap party), go to the entrance of the art gallery and ring the bell. Switch to the other party and run into the grand piano room. Omega is there where the pink cloud used to be. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: OMEGA--------------------------- HP: 1100000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none First turn: Have Squall cast Triple on Zell. Have Zell cast Aura on the party. Then have Irvine use Holy War. You are now invincible and in Aura status. Beware, if Aura runs out, you cannot cast it again if Holy War is still in effect. Use Limit Breaks until it dies. Use Holy War after casting Aura, otherwise it won't work. Your chief concern for this battle is timing. Be ready with another Holy War when your first runs out, otherwise if you are unlucky, Omega will do Medigo Flame or Terra Break (think instant death). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yay! You get Three Stars, Proof of Omega, and 100 AP. 6: SIDE QUESTS 6.1 gf odin In Disc II, III, or IV, you can do this quest. It requires going to the Centra Ruins and performing certain tasks in order to reach the GF. Here goes: Go in Centra Ruins (duh). You have a 20 minute time limit. Exiting causes your SeeD rank to decrease by 1. Equip Enc-None and venture forth. Go up the right stairs at the fork, then inside. Here, go on the raised platform and you will be raised up to the next level. Here, Go up the left stairs. Go up and climb in the door you will see soon. Examine the console, then go back to the base. Examine the blue console and go up on the new staircase. Climb up the nearby ladder to reach a statue. Take the left eye and go back. Then continue upward untill you reach another ladder. Only Squall can climb up here. Put in the left eye and a code will appear (it is random). Take out both eyes then go back to the 1st statue and put in both eyes. Enter the code and go in the passage to fight Odin. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: ODIN-------------------------------- HP: 30000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none There is no good way to attack Odin. Since you are probably somewhat weak, use GF's here. If your strength is around 150, then Limits and Aura/low HP are the way to go. He is not that hard. Don't forget to draw Triple, it is very useful. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Odin is not a summonable GF, he comes randomly at the beginning of fights and kills all enemies. You will get his card as well. 6.2 gf tonberry Go to the Centra Ruins in Disc II or Disc III, or Ultimecia's Castle in Disc IV in the final passage to her chamber. Fight approximately 17-20 Tonberrys. --------------------------MONSTER TIPS: TONBERRY---------------------- HP: ~600 * Squall's Level WEAKNESS: gravity STRENGTH: none Tonberry is affected by Diablos so use that. Make sure Diablos is at a high level, otherwise it will take forever. Use other high level GFs with Boost, and Limit Breaks if your strength is at least 125. Have high HP, because right after you kill a Tonberry, the Tonberry King might appear and you'll fight him consecutively. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- After a long time, the Tonberry King appears. -------------------------BOSS TIPS: TONBERRY KING--------------------- HP: ~1800 * Squall's level WEAKNESS: gravity STRENGTH: none Tonberry King is similar to a Tonberry, except more HP and stronger attacks. If your Strength is high, that would be better than using GFs (in Limits, I mean). Cast Aura or wait till low HP comes to use them. Diablos and other high level GFs are still useful, so don't rule them out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Afterward, the Tonberry King will minimize to a Tonberry, and joins your party as a GF. In the Lists file, his abilities are described in detail. 6.3 gf cactuar Cactuar is simple. Go to the Cactuar Island, which is east of the Kashkabald desert, which is on the east end of the continent in which Edea's House stands, and run into the cactus that jumps around on the island. You'll fight Jumbo Cactuar. ------------------------BOSS TIPS: JUMBO CACTUAR----------------------- HP: ~2200 * Squall's level WEAKNESS: water STRENGTH: none The key to this battle is its weakness: water. It would be preferable to have Quistis in your party so she can use her Limit Aqua Breath. Cast Aura on her, and then have her use it. Then have Squall cast Leviathan with his Mag stat high, and your third member have Triple cast on him/her, and cast Water 3 times (with a loaded Mag stat). Cactuar's attacks are powerful, he does anywhere from 2000-10000 damage. After a while, a message appears (Jumbo Cactuar is hesitating...) YOU MUST KILL HIM NOW! Otherwise he will run away and you'll have to fight him again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Afterward, he will fall and join your party as GF Cactuar. His abilities are described in my Lists section in detail. 6.4 gf doomtrain Doomtrain is simple. If you want, clues are given in Occult Fans I-IV. But here is the simple way. After getting the Ragnarok in Disc III, go to Tears' Point and get the Solomon Ring (at the very end). Then, get GF Alexander's Med Data and Med LV Up skills. Buy 60 Remedies and upgrade them using Med LV Up to get 6 Remedy+. Then transform 6 Elastoid Cards or Mug Wendigos for 6 Steel Pipes. Finally, get 6 Malboro Tentacles from Malboro Cards or fighting them on the Island Closest to Hell. (ICHell is the western most island on the Galbadian continent). Then use the Solomon Ring in the Item Screen to get Doomtrain! 6.5 gf bahamut Go to the SW corner of the world. You will see a lab protruding out of the ocean. Land on it. Go inside. When the blue light is off, then you may proceed. Else you will be attacked all the time. When you reach the center, choose whatever and fight a Ruby Dragon. The 2nd Time, choose to fight and fight another Ruby Dragon. The third time, go past the 2nd option and there is a third hidden option. Select that. Then you will fight Bahamut. -----------------------------BOSS TIPS: BAHAMUT----------------------------- HP: 50000 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none Act quickly here. Cast Triple, Aura, then use a Holy War, and blitz him with Limit Breaks. If your strength is not high, then you need juiced magic. Have Cactuar, Alexander, Leviathan hit him with high Boost and magic levels. Cast Curaga on All to prepare for his Mega Flare, which can wipe you out if you're not careful. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you beat him, you get him and his card, and goodies. 6.6 gf eden After beating Bahamut, go back on the Ragnarok and talk to everyone. Land back down on the lab and go in. There will be a vine extending downward. Go down it. Examine the lever on the console left of the shaft. It will brief you about the status, but go on down. The next one, go right of steps. Choose 2 or 4 steam on the console, then go down. Go down, the next console is right, choose one. Use 1 unit for the rest of the way. Now, I believe that if you used 4 steam on the first choice, you will end up with too little steam (at the very end). But if you chose 4 steam, here a console will appear on the left side. If you examine it, it will lead to a room which will add 7 steam to your reserve. So anyway, keep going down and use 1 steam on the console. When you reach the end, you should have 10 steam left. Proceed into the depths... Save, then equip Enc-None, unless you want to gain levels. Go down, down down, down, down. When you reach the bottom, you will be in an open room. Examine the console. It will start a sequence which ends up with you fighting Ultima Weapon (section 5.1). 6.7 domestic quests These are domestic quests because they require no battling whatsoever. NOTE: These are easier to accomplish with Enc-None on. OBEL LAKE North of Timber is a lake with water a slightly different color than normal (kinda looks murky). There should be a small peninsula reaching into the center of the lake. Go to the edge of the this peninsula and search it for a set of hidden options to appear. It will ask you: Throw a Rock Try Humming Try humming, and a 'black shadow' should appear. If not, keep trying. The shadow will tell you that his friend Mr. Monkey is lost, and asks you to help find the monkey. He gives you two clues: 'Mr. Monkey may have hopped a train toward Dollet', and 'Mr. Monkey likes hanging out inside of forests'. Have you guessed where he is? He's in the forest west of Dollet. Just walk around, and eventually you'll run into Mr. Monkey. Either choice will make him run for it, so just go back to Obel Lake. Now, the shadow will give you clues to 'stones' randomly: 'At the beach near Balamb, something special washes up sometimes' 'You'll find something on an island east of Timber' 'You'll find something on top of a mountain with a lake and cavern' 'Mr. Monkey had a rock like this' 'Take a break at the railroad bridge' 'Take time off at the Eldbeak Peninsula' 'Back in the day, there used to be a small but beautiful village south of here surrounded by deep forrests' 1st one: just search the area constantly until you find the rock with 'STSLRM' 2nd one: There's an island east of timber without shores...fly Ragnarok there and search the island for rocks until you find the one REAIDR. 3rd one: Near the Galbadia garden site, there should be a mountain with a cavern with water coming out of it. Go on top of that mountain (Monterosa Plateau) and search the area directly above the cavern. There, you'll find a bird warming it's eggs. Select 'check it out' and you'll fight a Cokatrice. Kill it, then get the rock, which says EASNPD. 4th one: First of all, go to the peninsula and throw rocks. Throw 'em until it says 'The rock skipped many many times'. After this, go to the forest with Mr. Monkey. Find him, and throw rocks at him. Eventually, he'll throw a rock back at you, saying URHAEO. Now...put the rocks together for the final clue (go back to the lake and the shadow will display the rocks in this order S T S L R M U R H A E O R E A I D R E A S N P D See a pattern? If you read it from top right down the list of letters, it will say MORDREDPLAINSHASTREASURE; Mordred plains has treasure. Go to the Mordred Plains, which is north of Esthar. Here, different stones are all over the place. The one you really want to pay attention to is the red stones. They lie; meaning you should do exactly opposite of what they say. If they say that the treasure isn't there, then it's there; check it a second time to receive it. The treasure is a Three Stars, which teaches the ever useful Expendx3-1 ability. 5th one: Well, he hints to the many draw points around the world that are located on railroad bridges. 6th one: Go to the Eldbeak Peninsula, which is located north of the Balamb Continent. Check around it for a stone which says: TRETIMEASUREATMINOFFDEISLE Figure it out? Take the clue literally, and take out the words TIME OFF from the stones. It should now say TREASURE AT MINDE ISLE. Minde Isle is located south of Esthar, and you'll get a Luck-J scroll for your effort. Last one: In Centra, there should be a forest with a round grassy clearing in middle of it. Inspect it, and Squall will mention that there's a lot of rubble around. Now, the best part of this side quest... THERE'S NOTHING HERE!!! SHUMI VILLAGE The Shumi Village is located on a large island northwest of Trabia, it's on your map. Here, you can find an ultima draw point (5000 gil per use!) and some other interesting things. Explore the village downstairs. In the last house, you'll find someone that needs your help to finish a statue. You'll find that you need certain stones to complete this quest. The locations to the stones are: - Blue Stone Just to the left of the Laguna statue - Wind Stone On a boulder just to the left of the hotel - Life Stone Tree roots to the right of the Elder's house - Shadow Stone At the surface where the ultima draw point is; check every area with shadow. - Water Stone Check the stone the frog is sitting on, then check for it at the artisan's house (it's used for washing) After this, the statue is completed. Go to the elder to get a... PHEONIX PINION!!!! After the statue is completed and you got your prize, talk to the Elder's Attendant in the workshop. After this, go to the elder to ask for more assistance. After this, go talk to the moomba outside. Follow the moomba and then return to the elder. He'll say that he needs another helper for the completion of the statue. Go back and speak with the elder's attendant. After this, go talk to the artisan. Go back to the elder, and you'll be asked to find a way to convince the artisan. Go to FH and speak with the grease monkey (lives in a repair shop). He'll give you a moomba doll. Go back to the tribe, and show the elder the doll to receive a Status Guard. WINHILL If you visit the mansion near Raine's old house, there will be a person inside who will ask you for help locating a vase, which unfortunately has shattered. The pieces of the vase can be found throughout the town. The first piece is located in a suit of armor inside the mansion. The second piece is located in Laguna's old house - in the white flowers. The third piece is located in Raine's house; talk to the lady living there until she starts talking about the smell of the flowers downstairs. Go downstairs and observe the flowers on the lower fight corner of the screen. Raine's spirit will appear. Speak to it and a cat will replace it. Inspect the cat to find the last piece of the vase. Return the pieces to the person in the mansion to receive a Holy Stone. 6.8 card quests PUPU The rarest card in the game. I'm sure you've heard about it from your friends. In order to get this card, you will have to equip Enc-None. Now travel to Winhill and run around on the World Map outside. You will be attacked. It will show a UFO carrying a cow. Then go to the Mandy Beach near Timber. You will see a UFO carrying an Easter Island head. Then go to the Kashkabald Desert, on the east end of the continent with Edea's House on it. You will be attacked and see a UFO carrying a pyramid. Then, go to the small island east of the Heath Peninsula. A UFO will be carrying a something, didn't write it. Then land near the Chocobo Forest in the NE world, Grandidi Forest. You will be attacked by a UFO. Kill it and you'll see it fly off. Go to where Balamb Garden originally was and fight Pupu. --------------------------MONSTER TIPS: PUPU------------------------------- HP: 10 WEAKNESS: none STRENGTH: none You can either kill Pupu and receive an Accelerator (Spd-J) ability, or give it 5 Elixirs and he will cough up a Pupu card. The Pupu card refines into 1 Hungry Cookpot, which teaches a GF 'Devour' ability (instant kill). Go for the card! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISC IV CARDS Get the Ragnarok, described in 4.1, and fly to one of the southern tips of Esthar and you'll enter a scene with the Card Queen. Play her for the Irvine, Kiros, Pheonix, Doomtrain, Chubby Chocobo cards. Also, on the Ragnarok in Disc IV, all the CC Members will be there, but only if you played and defeated them all in Disc III. Play Spade for the Chicobo card, and get any other cards you may have used up for items from other members.
