WWWFBL Rules
These rules have been taken from several other leagues but mainly IFBL so as to use the best rules divised for a more enjoyable experience by all.
Article I. The League.
(1) The World Wide Web Fantasy Baseball League (WWWFBL) is a group of 28 individuals united for the common goal of simulating a baseball league. The WWWFBL will use a version of Sierra On-Line's Front Page Sports Baseball '98 utilizing files found on the Internet. Any patches that come out will be tested and approved by the commissioner before being used.
Article II: The Commissioner.
(1) The Commissioner is responsible for running the league, which includes resolving each day's games, performing off-season activities, and making decisions regarding league policies that will affect the league in the present and in the future. The Commissioner must always act in a manner that best benefits the WWWFBL, should always be an Owner or former Owner, and should always try to have all twenty-eight teams owned by humans and not computer-controlled.
(2) The Commissioner is entitled to split duties with another for the benefit of the league, with each of the involved parties being considered a Commissioner.
Article III: The Owners.
(1) The Owner must ratify the WWWFBL Constitution and is responsible for making all moves regarding his or her team, which will be discussed below. It is recommended that each Owner own the Front Page Sports Baseball `98 game for the purpose of having experience with how the game works and using the league files.
(2) An Owner may not switch teams at any time. An Owner may only rename his or her team if the team moves in real life, in which case it would be at the option of the Owner. No Owner may own more than one team, nor may the Owner collude with any other Owner or group of Owners to unjustly enrich any team. Any Owner found guilty of collusion will be expelled from the WWWFBL for life.
(3) A five-member Executive Council will be formed to assist and advise the Commissioner on policy if the Commissioner feels it is necessary. This group will consist of the Commissioner and the most senior members of the league. If there is a tie in seniority, the Commissioner will decide who is on the Executive Council.
(4) Each Owner is expected to participate in the daily operation of his team. If the Commissioner does not hear from an owner in fifteen days, the Owner will be sent a note to check his presence. If this note is not responded to in fifteen days, the Owner will lose ownership of his or her team, and it will be assumed that the Owner has lost his Internet access.
(5) If an Owner is going to be without access for an extended period of time, he or she may authorize another Owner to act as Custodian for his or her team. The Custodian should do the best he or she can to follow the instructions of the unavailable Owner. Under no circumstance may a Custodian trade his or her players for the unavailable Owner's players.
(6) If an Owner quits or is relieved of his duties, a new Owner should be found immediately. It is important to keep all twenty-eight teams owned and not operated by the computer.
Article IV: Daily Activities.
- Each day, the Commissioner will be responsible for simulating the two-day's games and posting the results. The Commissioner must also make the league files available and update a World Wide Web page on a timely basis.
- Each Owner is responsible for making changes to his or her team's lineup. In order for a move to go in for a day's games, it must be in to the Commissioner no later than 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
(3) Due to the game allowing starting pitchers to pitch on three days rest for an entire season without any adverse effects, letting a pitcher pitch on three days rest is illegal until August 15 of a given season.
