Once they frolicked under the sun, now they scuttle through the darkness seeking vengeance, and a sad kind of rememberance.

These are the remnants of the faeries of Athas. If a person isn't careful they will spy these sad beings dancing in the moonlight trying to recall happier times. Any one spying their frolicking dies a slowl painful death. They bear a special grudge against humans. What they do to humans when they catch them does not bear thinking about.

Combat

Undead faeries will attack any living being they see - any sentient being any way. They will not attack wild animals - domesticated animals are fair game, though. They will attack humans in preference to other races. When attacking they seek to incapacitate, rather than kill to allow for torment later.

They have two main attacks. The first is a level draining attack that drains 1 level per hit. The second is a chill touch that does 1d10 points of damage and paralyzes the victem for 1 turn per point of damage inflicted. They can use either attack at will.

They also have all the powers, abilities and spells of their living counterparts.

Undead faeries suffer 1 point of damage per round when exposed to sunlight as vampires.

Habitat / Society

Undead faeries maintain their former societal structure. They have kings, queens, knights, lords and ladies. They have, however, thrown aside alignment and personality conflicts. Thus it is possible to see fremlins, gorse, Seelie and Unseelie faeries all in the same gathering.

Most undead faeries seek to lose themselves in memories of the past. They like to dance and play, until someone stumbles onto them. Then they become vicious and strike without mercy. They will try to take prisoners, if they can forget their rage long enough to. This will allow themselves avenge themselves a little more. They hate all humans and go into a berserk fury upon seeing them.

Ecology

Aside from acting as defenders of wild life, undead faeries have no real inpact on the local ecology.
