Athasian liches are similar to their other worldy counterparts with some major differences. They are also even more rare.

Combat

Athasian liches are similar to other liches in combat. They choose spells over combat and do cold damage with a touch. The biggest difference is in spells. They do not memorize spells. They are unable to. The spells thay had memorized when they achieved lichedom are the only spells they have access to. When they gain another level they are then (and only then) able to memorize new spells. The spells they cast have no material components and have a casting time of 5, regardless of level. They are also able to animate dead once a day.

Athasian liches do not have phylactries. When they are destroyed, roll a save vs death maigic with a -1 penalty for each time they were destroyed. If they fail the roll, they are permanently destroyed. If successful they will recover in 1d6 + level months x level/5. Round down where necessary.

Habitat / Society

Athasian liches are rare in the extreme. It is much simpler (abd better) to become a kaisharga. Only the equally rare necromancer is even interested in becoming a liche. Athasian liches have a much longer "life" than liches of other worlds. This is due in part to their ability to "re-create" themselves and the remoteness of their lairs. Athasian liches tend to be located in a few remote ruins left over from the Green Age and there aren't many necromancers around any more.

Ecology
As undead, Athasian Liches have little or no impact on the environment. They do not eat and, therefore, only hunt for experimental subjects. They also do ot practice either defiling or preserving magic. Their spells are powered by the Grey and have no impact on the environment.
