Jacoby 2NT Responses

This is a handy little tool that allows you to tell partner right away that you have support for his opening major bid, and you have an opening hand yourself!! Partner opens 1H and you bid 2NT. This says, "Partner, I have an opening hand and support for your hearts! Tell me more about your hand!!" Partner will now bid:
1. A singleton at the 3 level in another suit or a void at the 4 level (however, depending on partnership agreement, a jump to the 4 level could show a two-suited hand of 5-5 or better, in which case, the 3 level bid would show a singleton or a void;
2. The strength of his hand if he does not have a singleton or a void to show by: (a) jumping to game in his suit to show a minimum opening hand; (b) bidding three of his suit with more than 16 high card points; (c) bidding 3NT with a relatively balanced opening hand.
