If you are playing Jacoby Transfers over no-trump openings, you might want to consider extending that bid to Minor Suit Stayman. The bid of 2S by responder asked the opener to bid a four or five-card minor. In Minor Suit Stayman, the 2S bidder is often showing a two-suited hand in the minors with the points to play at game level or possibly slam. Over 2S, the no-trump opener should bid:
1. A four or five-card minor if he has one;
2. A major suit showing control in that suit and holding 4-4 in the minors; or with no control in either major, he should bid his better minor; or
3. 2NT with no four-card minor.
By agreement, Minor Suit Stayman may be used over 2NT or 3NT opening bids.
