A counterpart to the Weak-Two Bid is the Preemptive Three Bid. This bid should tell partner that you have a seven-card suit and very weak hand. Depending on partnership agreement, this hand tends to be much weaker than a weak-two bid because it is meant to be disruptive (As my friend and mentor once told me - "If opponents have a game their way, let them find it on the three level").
Let's take a look at a preemptive three level opening hand:
QJxxxxx ~~~ Kx ~~~ xxx ~~~ x
See? Weak!! Now, make a minor change to this hand...
AQJxxxx ~~~ Kx ~~~ xxx ~~~ x
Just adding the ace of spades changes the whole complexion of this hand. Even though the hand is only ten points, with the seven spades, it is much too strong to be considered a weak hand.
