The Texas Transfer is very similar to the Jacoby Transfer with the exception that the bidding occurs on the four level. After partner opens 1NT, the responding bid of 4D demands that partner bid 4H; the bid of 4H demands that partner bid 4S. In that you are bypassing game at 3NT and forcing your partner to bid game in a major suit, you must promise at least a six-card suit. Use of the Texas Transfer should tell partner that your hand is limited to game values, and there is no slam interest.
