A Western Cue Bid is a great way to find out if partner has a full (or partial, by agreement) stopper in the opponents' bid suit. The cue bid of opponents' suit asks partner to bid no trump holding a full stopper (or a partial stopper if that is the way you agree to play Western Cue) in their suit.
