The group reaches a pond dammed by beavers and determines the fell stone is in it. Giovanni attempts to recover the stone and is attacked by the beavers. As the group goes to help him a bear charges the party and Barak transforms into a bear and fights the newcomer. Group successfully fights off all the animals and recovers the fell stone and begins journeying to civilization. Brianna shows up at the camp one night and takes the stone from the party after a brief battle. Group continues to Lord Darke's and finds Brianna talking to him. Her master has determined how to destroy the fell stones and she is spreading the information to those that need to know. Brianna tells the group a little about the items they found but refuses to tell them anymore about the fell stones.

The party decides to go to the Monastery of Maeder and learn for a while. Along the way three women lure Malus away from the camp with promises of gold and gems. The women propose to transport the entire part to the Monastery if Malus will perform a service for them, first he must render his companions unconscious. After much discussion the party agrees and wakes up chained to a wall in the basement of a demon cult warehouse. Elshon is granted Sho's favor and the group escapes from their bonds. Malus destroys the alchemical supplies, which creates a raging inferno.

Fleeing the inferno and angry ex-captors the group heads into the city. After some discreet questions Giovanni is able to determine that they are in Delving Bay, a large city on the coast of the Ephor Ocean some 5,000 miles away from the Monastery of Maeder. While determining how to best make their way back to the Silver Falls area the group is approached by a messenger from Lier's father, James, who requests a meeting with him and Giovanni.

While the rest of the group wait in the public area of the Gilded Coin, Lier and Giovanni meet with James. James informs Giovanni that his mother had a vision of him being in danger and asked for his help to rescue their children. The party was able to escape before a rescue could be affected, the demon cult was disposed of though. The vision that Giovanni' mother received has taken most of her strength and she is only holding on to see her son before she dies.

The gypsy troupe of Octavius helps Giovanni with the funeral ceremonies for his mother. The ceremonies basically consist of a three day party during which Giovanni is reunited with his friend Kirsten. After the funeral is over Octavius agrees to let the party join the troupe while they travel towards the mountains.

Once the group arrives at Chainpoint, the Chainshield clanhold, the dwarves there inform Malus that all memebers of the Ironheart clan are to report to the Seat of the Sovereign. Use of the King's Road and bringing non-dwarven companions is authorized. They refuse to tell him anymore but seem sympathetic towards him.
