This group of pacifistic healers follow the Goddes of Life and have a presence in almost every city and village making it the largest sub-order of the Priesthood of Sho'. The Order includes mages, priests, shamans and individuals with no extraordinary talents who wish help others the best they are able.

The Order was initially founded by Maeder the Master Healer, a mage who used his powers only to help others. Maeder was solely responsible for curing the first Black Fever which caused the death of thousands of humans, elves, dwarves, halflings and other Young Races. During the creation and casting of the Black Fever cure Maeder contracted an illness which no one could cure and he soon disappeared. To show their gratitude all the races joined together to build a great monastery where anyone of any race could come and learn the healing arts.

The monks of Maeder are consummate healers and will always help those in need. They are consider protected by all the civilized nations in the realm and some of the uncivilized nations. Harming a monk is a very serious crime and the monks seem to be able to somehow sense it and will not provide aid until reparations are made. While the monks will not intentionally cause harm this does not mean they are defenseless. Over the years they have developed The Open Palm, an unarmed method of self defense. For situations where pacifism will not work there is the Vindicator Sect and the association with the Whispers of the Night.

The Vindicator Sect was founded in honor of St. Alera. She defended the remote Hindor Monastery from a rampaging groups of demons. She was found slumped over her sword which was driven through the body of an demon and into the stone steps of the monastery's threshold. The sword remains in place today and the monastery has become part of every vindicator's training. Vindicators often have the Higher Purpose: Defend the Threshold.

St. Corin- cured the 1st Mind Plague

St. Dester- cured the Creeping Sickness

St. Alec and St. Deseree'- cured the 2nd Mind Plague

St. Menor- known for his tireless work with the poor

St. Alera- died defending a monastery of children, Vindicator Sect founded in her honor

St. Vincent- negotiated the peace agreement that ended the Fisher Conflict

Oath of Maeder (-15): Help those in need. Never use your powers to do harm. Use violence only to defend yourself or those in your care.

Vindicator's Oath (-10): Help those in need. Protect those under your care with your life.

The holy symbol of Sho' is carried by all members of the Order of Maeder and counts as a True Faith Symbol. The amulet can provide illumination as per the Light spell when grasped. The amulet for the Vindicator Sect has a sword inset the back
