Shamans

Shamanism 10 pts/level

A shaman is ally of the natural spirits of the world. With their help is able to combat malicious spirits and enemies of the natural order. Each shaman makes a pact with one or more totem spirits, the spirit can be of an animal, plant, mineral or a physical construct. The totem is able to partially possess the shaman and grant supernatural abilities, these are known as summonings.

The summonings are advantages related to the abilities of the totem type. The advantages granted must cost less than or equal to the current point total of the shamanism level. Summoning each advantage is considered a separate M/H skill with a +1 bonus per level of shamanism. A summoning takes 1 second of concentration per 10 pts of the advantage summoned. Each additional summoning suffers a cumulative -1 penalty.

A summoning advantage is taken back by the totem when it is no longer needed. Example: Barak the Kodiak Shaman summons strength and DR to fight some Orcs, after combat the Kodiak spirit takes the advantages back. Barak summons fur to protect him from the harsh northern climate, when Barak finds shelter or moves to a warmer climate the fur will fade.
