My Motion Picture Soundtracks...

Come to me...

Bjork Gudmundsdottir

Come to me

I'll take care of you

Protect you

Calm, calm down

You're exhausted

Come lie down

You don't have to explain

I understand

You knowThat I adore you

You know That I love you

So don't make me say it

It would burst the bubble

Break the charm

Jump off

Your building's on fire

I'll catch you

I'll catch you

Destroy all that is keeping you back

And then I'll nurse you

I'll nurse you

Come to me

I'll take care of you

You don't have to explain

I understand

What can I say? I absolutely love bjork, in all her 'Blue Eyed Pop' glory. I first heard this song in a remixed form from a European CD single that my sister, who's not really a fan, obtained back in 1994. Weird thing was, that the local Music Store, Echo Records, were actually GIVING the singles away because they were overstocked, so my sister grabbed a copy only because it was free...and, oh, how little she realised at the time that it would a favourite of mine, even though I've since lost the cardboard cover. The CD was called 'The Best Mixes From The Album Debut For All The People Who Don't Buy White-Labels', with the particular mix being the Black Dog mix/Sabres of Paradise. ( These are actually listed as two different mixes but they were both one and the same to me..) Everytime I felt a bit down, or that the world was coming down on me from all directions, I would listen to this particular mix, paying close attention to the lyrics and sorta dream that the beautiful and wonderous Bjork was there at my side, consoling me, comforting me, holding my hand. Little Miss Gudmundsdottir has other far more beautiful songs but this one will always stand out for me as my first 'real' venture into the 'Violently Happy', deliciously demonic, mutually thrilling atmosphere that is Bjorkdom. Amen to that...

Next song...

Yes, yes, yes, You don't have to go on. Now take me home...
