ALIEN FRONT Humankind believed in its own strength, its own resources, and its ability to be the master and not the slave. It was wrong. Three-eyed alien forces known as the Triclops descended upon Earth without warning and preyed on man, woman, and child showing no more remorse than a snake swallowing a rat. When Earth fought back, the alien motherships picked our air forces out of the sky effortlessly. On the ground, the worlds armies scored puny but inspiring victories. Now its time for an all-out offensive. Are you the one to lead the emancipation of all humanity, or do you just taste good with a side salad?

It's Alien Front, the game of global domination. Here, the world isn't decided by politics or nukes, but the way it should be: tank warfare. Choose your side: homo sapiens or the three-eyed Triclops invaders. Tough call, isn't it? Hey, I see you Scotch taping that eye to your forehead, traitor! Thus far in this epic battle to end all battles, the Triclops forces have taken a decisive edge. However, the Earth forces are starting to retaliate slowly and surely. It's all down to the ground combat now. Will you be the straw that breaks the planet's back, or will you be the savior to every man, woman, and child? Each race has a group of vehicles to choose from. Each has its own unique mix of speed, armor, and firepower. The variety of missions you'll find yourself on will require you to choose your supplies carefully. Eviscerating a legion of your enemies takes a modicum of strategy -- who knew?

If your blind date looks like this ... just turn around and walk away. Alien Front's graphics are pushing quite a few polygons, and it could be one of the sweetest-looking N-Gage titles yet. The city environments look especially cool, though we don't know how destructible they will be. Unfortunately, these same visuals may be the main reason N-Gage Arena support will apparently only be limited to posting scores and stats. Two people can fight for the fate of Earth via Bluetooth, which will likely be the best way to play Alien Front. In both the arcade and Dreamcast versions, the more human players, the more fun you will have. Let's hope Sega bumps it up to four-player simultaneous, so it will be more of an all-out war, rather than a one-on-one showdown. This is quite the odd choice for Sega to bring over to N-Gage, especially since it's void of the online component that was its major selling point on Dreamcast. What's next? Samba De Amigo? Seaman? We shudder to think -- even more than usual. The game may have a lot in common with the Nokia-published Operation Shadow -- another militant shooter bound for a spring release, but the alien gimmick is a nice variance. Rest assured: The enemy in Alien Front has weapons of mass destruction, and isn't afraid to use them. This is not a drill. We're talking security advisory "kiss-your-butt-goodbye."
