so it should still be very intuitive and accurate. The physics are being lovingly labored over to ensure that the ball behaves as it would in real life. Tiger Woods PGA 2004 is known for its wealth of modes, and many of them are making their way to N-Gage. Single players have practice and the beefy career mode to work through, and multiplayer modes include versus and arena. Most of these are self-explanatory, except career, so let us elaborate on that one. Career is made up of three sections: tournaments, scenarios, and "EA Sports Crown." Tournaments are likely four-round affairs taking place on one course. Scenarios, at least in other iterations of Tiger Woods PGA 2004, gave you certain tasks with scoring goals to achieve. For example, you may have five par-5 holes, and will get medals based on how low your total score is. EA Sports Crown is essentially a major, multi-course tournament. It takes place over 12 rounds, and on three courses. That's a lot of golf, to be sure. This game will take N-Gage Arena to a whole new level. It's natural to guess that there will be tournaments where a large field of players competes on the same course for the best score. However, that's just the tip of the ol' iceberg. Four people from around the world can actually posse up and tackle the same course at the same time, in real-time. Now that's what we've been wanting out of N-Gage Arena! Another great Arena feature is the wealth of stats tracked. It's not just scores and placing; but will also cover things like longest drive, best putt, and a ton of other categories. Nokia is saying you will also be able to download a new course via Arena, as well. Tiger could birdie par 3s with his eyes closed and both thumbs amputated. We don't have an exact count on the number of golfers present, but the field encompasses both real pros like John Daly and fictional golfers like Pops Masterson. It seems likely that this version won't have the excellent "Game Face" option, which lets you customize your golfer to look exactly like you, but we can't confirm or deny that yet. The N-Gage version of Tiger Woods PGA 2004 has all the makings of a jaw-dropping classic. It's the kind of portable sports game the world has been waiting for. The N-Gage Arena features alone may make it a must-have. At the very least, it's doubtful to tee us off. |
