Well, I wish I could tell you eating double stuffed oreos is a smart lifestyle choice, but that isn't happening! However, deprivation is not the key to healthy living. Forget the word "diet" as being a verb: it's now a noun! It describes the new way you should view food. Our diets should ideally consist of about calories split in this manner: 30% or less from fats, 40% from carbohydrates, and 30% from proteins. Your fat intake should not be in the form of chili dogs, though, but from lean meats, like chicken, fish, or lean beef or pork. This is a good way to get your protein, too, along with low fat dairy products and legumes. Carbohydrate sources should be as many fresh vegetables as possible, one or two fruits a day, and whole grain breads, rice, or pasta.
Also, forget "3 squares a day!" What bologna!! It's best to space your eating throughout the day in increments of 4-7 smallmeals! This boosts your metabolic rate.
Don't eat outof boredom, either...go for a walk with Fido, clean the house, or read outdoors instead!
Finally, you'll love this....drum roll,please...CHEAT! If you are exercising a few times a week, you're eating sensibly monday-friday, and you don't simply gorge yourself silly, it's just fine to have a greasy weekend treat, or even a slice of Grandma's cake! This occasional change will actually boost your fat burning, when done in moderation!
