Doberman Pinscher | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Doberman Pinscher Breed in Brief Developed in Germany in the late nineteenth century, the Doberman Pinscher has served as a guard dog, a police and war dog, and even a hunting dog. From the beginning, this has been a working dog devoted to the service of mankind. The smooth, short, hard coat is thick and lies close to the body. It comes in colors of black, red, blue and fawn, with rust markings. A devoted companion who makes a great family dog, the Doberman is elegant, loyal and obedient, easy to teach and quick to learn. However, these energetic, determined and fearless dogs need authoritative owners whom they respect. If you do not have time to properly train a Doberman, you should consider a different breed. Height at shoulder: 24-28". Weight: 65-85 lbs. AKC group: Working Dogs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
