Field Spaniel Breed in Brief Bred in England and America as a hunter and companion, this noble sporting dog exhibits a combination of beauty and utility. The moderately long coat is flat or slightly wavy, and is glossy and silky to the touch. This dog is most often black, but other colors can be liver, golden liver or roan; any of the colors can have tan points. The Field Spaniel needs to be a useful member of the family, and may be trained to work as a hunter or a tracker. Level-headed, intelligent and a dog of great perseverance, this breed combines energy and enthusiasm for hunting with the affectionate personality of a companion dog. Height at shoulder: 17-18".
