Zafriel's Game ReviewI'm takin a break from the kitchens and customers to let ya know what I think about: |
Well, all
I have to say is that I did not like it. Now there are
many other reviews out there that are praising Cool
Boarders 4 as a vast improvement over what they
considered bad game play in Cool Boarders 3. I do not
agree one bit. I rocked on CB3! I eagerly had saved my
money and as soon as CB4 was released I bought it.
Thinking about how happy I had been with 989 Studio's
efforts of CB3, I put my CD into the awaiting
playstation, watching the intro with a bit of slaver
running off my chin. I grasped the controller in my hot
little hands, built my own player( one of the few perks I
found in this game.), customized my board( perk number
two) and was off! Talk about disappointed! The days of
numerous tricks are over. I understand that the
developers were trying to put in more realism, but
gravity like that come from where? Jupiter? I found the
game control clunky and slow, and a response time way
down, I feel, from CB3. ( To be fair, I asked others that
owned CB3 to come and try CB4. The dissapointment they
felt rivaled my own.) The learning curve is more
dramatic, though the game offers levels that help you
pratice the moves. The graphics were rather nice, I have to say, with far more detail than the previous releases. I found the music so-so, nothing that jumps out a grabs you. In the end, I turned it off. Overall, I felt that I did not get my moneys worth out of Cool Boarders 4 and quickly exchanged it at my local Funco Land. |
