Author, Marlene Behrend, was born in a little village amidst the Adirondack Mountains
of upstate New York. Her father, a prison guard, and her mother, moved
into one of fifty look alike houses. On first appearances, it would seem
to be an ideal place to raise a family. A further study of this geographically
isolated little village lent an air of fantasy to the lives of the fifty
families living there. Marlene's childhood memories were most likely very similar to many growing up in a dysfunctional family. Her father, frustrated with his lot in life, tended to take his hostilities out on his family, which made for a very insecure childhood for the author and her two siblings. |
A love of music saved the day for Marlene as she found comfort by emersing herself
in her piano playing and singing. However, she grew up with an unrealistic
view of family living and eventually started on a path of self-destruction. While working as a secretary for a well-known company in upstate New York, Marlene transferred to a small town in North Carolina. While there, she was introduced to the teachings of Edgar Cayce, founder of the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her life turned around and hopes for a better life emerged. |
