Title: "Resentment"
Written by: Drew Thiele

***********Part 1***********

"Hey Phoebe!" I managed to sound cheerful, for once. It had been a long morning, arguing with my editor on the phone from 415. I was putting some stuff in my knapsack, as Phoebe trailed by me.

My sister swiveled her head to smile at me. "Hey Prue, how's it going?"

"Stressful... I have that Photo shoot today at the park, with that client." I wearily sighed, and was busy packing my camera bag with all the usual supplies.

"I hope I don't short out any equipment!", was my joking response toward Phoebe, with a wry grin.

Phoebe laughed merrily. "That happened once, sis... Don't worry about it. Just keep calm. Remember 'green fields of flowers, and sunny days'. Oh! by the way..do you need anything?"

I groaned softly at the rememberance, but grinned at my impish sister. "Of course, Pheebs. Thanks. And, nothing, thanks."

"No problem Prue. I'll see you later!", Phoebe smiled as she vanished in a static burst of light and noise. I reached out my hand to stop her, and shook my head in foolishness.

"Of course. She's gotten a lot worse now that she's got those powers. Well, I shouldn't be too hard on her, since it's given her more freedom, but I wonder...if more restrictions..?" I sighed to myself ruefully. I had my doubts and hesitation about accepting these people's claims to no killing. Granted, I had seen a few examples where Phoebe hesitated to vanquish a few demons. I didn't mind having Piper and I take over, but I was somewhat starting to resent it. I needed to have a talk with that girl, and very soon.

I looked up at the Grandfather clock with widening eyes, I saw I was late! Damn! I grabbed everything and ran out the front door. Luckily for me, as I got there, my boss was lenient about my tardiness, and put me right to work. This time. I knew I was hanging on by a thread with my job as of recently. My boss wasn't happy with me, with my unexplained absences, and falling behind in my work, and unexplained machinery problems. This train of thoughts led me into a state of annoyance, and then it slowly built up into anger, and resentment, but I bottled it all up, for the sake of my job, and for the sake of the Charmed Ones. Damn Phoebe! Damn the Tomorrow People for coming into our lives! I clenched my fist in smoldering anger, my eyes glinting for a short time. I took a slow deep breath. "Now is not the time.", was my soft spoken comment to myself.

***********Part 2***********

A white static burst of light appeared in front of Kevin. He swiveled his head around, gazing at Phoebe with questions in his eyes, and a slight annoyed look, since Kevin had been enjoying his moment alone. Phoebe caught a tendril of Kevin's mood, and blushed, apologizing.

"Kevin, I'm sorry to barge onto you. I just need someone to talk to.", was Phoebe's apologetic reply to Kevin's expression of mixed annoyance and pleasure.

"Oh, that's okay, Phoebe. You can talk to me whenever you want..." Kevin smiled inwardly. He felt so comfortable having Phoebe around, like a breath of fresh air, and the knowledge that he liked her, liked her quite a bit, didn't help much to dissuade him from not talking to her. He had his shy bouts, at times, but Phoebe dismissed them as just quiet moods.

Phoebe looked at Kevin with a frustrated glance. "It's my sisters. I don't...think they understand me. I wish I could explain all of this to them, in a way they'd relate."

Kevin's expression changed to one of understanding and somewhat sad. "Oh. I know what you mean. Others that aren't a TP don't really understand us, due to our powers, and our nature. There really isn't much you can do."

"But since I became a witch...as well, I do somewhat understand both sides of the issue. I still can't kill with my powers, witch or TP, but I can help with magic as well, if only with beneficial types of magic. Although I do have problems sometimes with their Power of Three spells, and my amplification, but only if I just concentrate on the two sisters and not think about what the spell is...", continued Kevin's comment.

Phoebe smiled, saying, "So we can relate to both of our sides. I'm sorry you do have to go through that sometimes. I remember how we had to vanquish so many demons, and warlocks in my time before my breakout. I didn't think twice about it, but...I guess the stakes are a little higher now. A check and balance, if you will..."

Kevin nodded, and twirled his finger in the sand silently.

"Kevin? What's on your mind?", inquired a curious Phoebe, reaching out to Kevin's shoulder with a tentative hand.

Kevin looked at Phoebe with intense eyes, and shrugged after a moment. "Nothing, really. Just thinking."

Phoebe prompted Kevin, "About what?"

"It's ..sorta personal, Phoebe."

Phoebe nodded quietly. "Okay... I won't pry, but you do know I'm here to talk. Even if it's about witchy stuff. I know the others don't really know how to help you on that."

Phoebe looked at her watch, and gasped. "Oh my god. It's 5pm. I gotta meet Piper at P^3. Kevin, will you be okay?"

Kevin nodded and smiled softly. "Go, Phoebe. I'll be fine." His heart beated a little quicker as Phoebe smiled warmly at him.

Phoebe grinned. "Okay. Talk later, Kevin!" She waved at Kevin, as a static aura began to swallow her until she vanished into thin air.

Kevin sighed deeply, hanging his head toward the sand, putting his hands on his face. / Damn... why can't I tell her? /

A static burst of white noise appeared by Kevin, to admit Megabyte, grinning. "So, what's up Kevin?"

"Oh. Hi Megabyte. N'much. You?"

"What's with the lackluster? Something got you bummed?" Megabyte's cheerful expression became halfway serious. He knelt by Kevin, putting his hand on his shoulder. Megabyte knew that it was serious. What it was, he had no clue..well, maybe an inkling.

"Was a certain someone here, Kevin?" Megabyte said with a certain wry tone. Kevin's head snapped to look at Megabyte. "No! ...well... Yes."

"Everyone knows about your feelings for Phoebe, except Phoebe, which is a surprise...you know..considering." Megabyte pointed this out to Kevin, with a smile.

Kevin blushed and turned away. Megabyte laid an assuring hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Kevin. I mean, she's a wonderful lady. She'd be dumb to not see a nice fellow like you."

Kevin shrugs. "You have more in common with her as well, Kevin." Megabyte continued, smiling.

Kevin smiled. "Thanks Megabyte. I feel a little better. I just wish I knew what to do. I can't just blurt out that I like her, you know!"

The redhaired TP nodded smirking a little. "I know. You have to do it delicately."

Kevin stared at Megabyte with a peeved expression. "YOU giving ME advice about women??"

"Hey!!" Megabyte exclaimed in indigation. "What do you mean by THAT?"

Kevin grinned wryly. "You have no luck with women." He stuck his tongue out at Megabyte.

Megabyte laughed softly. "I suppose so. So... tell me...what are you gonna say to Phoebe?"

Kevin confessed with a look on his face, closely resembling fear, and nervousness. "I-I don't know, Megabyte." He looked down silently, tracing another unknown pattern in the sand in front of his crossed legs.

***********Part 3***********

Materializing into a deserted alley, Phoebe quickly looked around, to make sure no one was looking. It appeared deserted, other than a hooded male staring at Phoebe's appearance into thin air. He grinned maliciously, and thought to himself. / Now I have got you, a witch and a Tomorrow Person. Prepare for your worst nightmare, while I strip your powers. Then I shall be the most powerful warlock in the world. Soon. Soon I will have your powers. /

Phoebe stopped at the back entrance of the club, with a chill that ran up her spine, but she shook it off momentarily. She shrugged, then walked into the club to see Piper, wiping the counter. Piper glanced up toward Phoebe's direction, her face breaking into a smile.

"Hey Pheebs. How are ya tonight?"

"I'm fine, Piper.. Seen Prue?"

"She's working late, she called earlier to say that she probably will be late tonight.", was Piper's reply, with a waved hand.

Phoebe leaned forward and had a question in her expression. Piper looked at her sister. "What's up, Pheebs?"

"I dunno, Piper. I just have a feeling. It's about Prue. She's working herself too hard, I think. I think it's because I'm not finding work... and I'm ..ya know."

"Honey, you know it's just work. It's nothing personal." She grinned softly. "Besides, you're doing half the work tonight anyways!" Piper continued with a mischievous streak in her curved lips.

"Awww!", pouted a sullen Phoebe playfully.

Piper waved a warning finger. "And NO teleporting!"

"Alllright, Piper... I promise!" A laughing Phoebe grinned.

Soon it became after 5 pm, and the Club was crowded, packed with people of various ages, swaying, eating, and drinking, and having a merry time.

Pushing open the door to P^3, I saw many people crowded, and thought to myself. / Busy. / I sauntered down the stairs, to weave my way through the crowd, and soon spied Piper, and waved in a hearty greeting smile. Piper smiled warmly, and waved me to her, and I slid onto a stool.

"Hey Piper. Seen Phoebe?", was my short but cheerful question.

"Busy taking orders." She pointed toward a table to my left, which was Phoebe standing there, pen in hair, pad in hand, listening to an order. She looked so vibrant, and so together. I felt something build up within me at the sight. I wished I were like her. So carefree, and full of life. At that moment I thought about my job, and sighed. It wasn't as glamorous as I had originally imagined it. I was surprised to feel that I was resentful toward Phoebe, but ...she did have a better life, or what seemed to be one. She could just simply vanish, and go somewhere else, if it suited her.

Phoebe turned around as if she sensed me, and smiled, waving at me. I responded back with another wave. I looked back at Piper, who was staring at me with a puzzled glance. "You ok, Prue?"

"It's nothing. I think I need to talk to Phoebe." She saw the look on my face and nodded. She said, "Take it easy, okay?", and went back to mixing drinks.

I ambled over to Phoebe and tapped her shoulder. "I need to talk to you about something, Phoebe. Can we talk outside?"

Phoebe searched my eyes for a clue, but apparently decided I was serious, and nodded. I led the way out to the back alley.

She shifted her weight, somewhat uncomfortably. "So..what's going on, Prue?"

I sighed softly. "Phoebe, Look. I am just not really sure about things lately. I don't know where to begin."

"Start from the beginning Prue. No wait...not ALL the way back." She grinned somewhat impishly.

"Phoebe. This is serious. I have been busting my ass lately, so we can meet the payments on the house, and the bills. I'm just stressed out lately. I am just reminded of your ... carefree nature, when you just pop out and pop in anywhere you want. It's gotten worse lately."

Phoebe sighed and turned her face away for a moment, taking a deep breath.

"Prue. I know. I can't help just popping out and in wherever I want. Whenever I want. Are you beginning to resent me because I have free mobility?"

"No.. I ... I guess..."

The hooded warlock emerged from the shadows at that precise moment. All you could see was the glowing blue eyes that emanated from inside the hood, and red skinned taloned hands. Not a sound was heard except a quiet breathing, but I could feel his slimy smile for some reason.

"What do you want?", was my forthcoming and forward question, my stance feral and ready for battle. My hands were outstretched.

"Your powers, of course... more those of your sister's."

"Of course." Phoebe rolled her eyes. "That is getting SO old."

"If you aren't going to take me seriously..."

He began chanting once.

"Powers of Tomorrow's One,
Powers of Life's current,
Energy becomes mine,
Increase my power!"

The warlock narrowed his eyes, and reached out a taloned hand as if to clench something. I quickly energized my hand and let go a volley of electrical spheres at the warlock, to be absorbed quickly into the warlock. I took a surprised step backward, with genuine fear in my eyes.

The Warlock laughed sinisterly, and a chill ran down my spine. "You don't even have the Power of 3...not even the Power of One!"

The Hooded Warlock raised his hand again to clench into a fist, then Phoebe quickly grabbed me. I looked at her in surprise, and knew no more.

Static auras began to envelop us and began pulsing weirdly, as if it were trying to merge two signatures, rather than vanishing as two seperate entities.

It lasted for merely a few seconds, but they felt the longest seconds of my life. The next moment we vanished, in a loud sonic burst of light.

***********Part 4***********

Two figures materialized in midair above the ocean's lapping waves, and plunged unceremoniously into it.

I instinctively swam upward in fear, driving me to the surface quicker. Phoebe was swimming up as well, as her head broke the surface. "Whoa. What was that, Prue?" I swept the throughly wet straggles of hair out of my face and looked at Phoebe.

I shook my head, too sodden to reply. Phoebe craned her neck, "There's the Ship. Let's get over there." A thought occured to me. "Phoebe. Can't you teleport us on the beach?"

"Oh. D'oh. I suppose I could.", was her slow response. She grabbed my shoulder, tried to concentrate.

She gasped loudly. "My powers are gone!"

"What? Never mind. Let's get onto the beach, and get dry.", was my no-nonsense tone. She nodded silently, and we swam toward the beach, and wandered toward the Ship's exterior hull.

I sat down with a thud. Phoebe mimiced my actions, with a weary thump. "What the hell was that?", was her perplexed explosion.

"I have no idea, Pheebs. You lost your powers? That warlock must have done it with that spell. Let me try my power."

I concentrated, holding up my fist, to engulf it in sparks, and to my dismay, nothing happened.

Phoebe stared at me. "I guess your powers are gone too. But if we have our powers stripped when the warlock cast that spell, then how did I...we still end up here?"

I looked at my sister with honesty in my eyes, "I don't know, Pheebs. I don't know. Maybe we just did escape just barely in time."

"Maybe. That teleport was very wacky though. Very screwed up, somehow."

I cocked my head puzzled. "Screwed up?"

She nodded intensely. "Yeah. It went on for longer than usual. I know you and I haven't teleported much together, but... it was just a lot different than my usual feelings."

I took Phoebe's words to heart, and considered them silently, for a few moments. A thought came to me. Why hadn't any other Tomorrow People come out yet, since we got here?

Phoebe looked at my face, and apparently had a similiar thought, and then began shouting, "Megabyte? Kevin? Jade? Ami? Adam?! Anyone here?!"

Kevin materialized behind Phoebe, shocking her so badly, she jumped up and scrambled back. I was mildly surprised by the appearance, but I had been used to it, due to having a teleporter as a sister. Bemused, I grinned at Phoebe's reaction.

Kevin grinned as he saw us, but it soon faded as he saw the state of our clothing.

"What's wrong, you two?" Kevin's expression changed to one of worried, and tentative, with cloudy eyes.

I wryly smiled at Kevin. "Have you or ever had anyone have a teleport go wrong?"

"No... not that I know of.." Kevin hesitantly replied.

Phoebe looked miserable. "We apparently, um, lost our powers."

Kevin stared at the two of us, as if we had grown two heads. "How is that possible?"

I spoke up quietly, "With Magic...anything's possible. I think we need your help."

Kevin concentrated silently for a moment, apparently doing something ...tomorrow people like, or so I guessed.

He gasped loudly startling us both for a second. "What is it, Kevin?", rushed Phoebe with a hand on his shoulder.

He stared at me oddly. "I can't explain it. YOU are a Tomorrow Person. SHE isn't."

Phoebe's intense gaze stared at Kevin. My face evidenced surprise by draining of color. We spoke at once. "What?"

***********Part 5***********

My voice took on a dangerous tinge. "What do you mean? I'm a Tomorrow Person?"

Kevin's legs took a tremelous step backward. "Uh...That's what I mean. You're a Tomorrow Person."

I inhaled air sharply, and deeply. "Okay. What the hell is going on?"

Phoebe looked at me. "Remember the warlock? He cast a spell on us, I guess." She was thinking intently. Sometime in this span of time since we had arrived, I could dimly sense something, or someone inside my head. I gazed at Kevin with a question on my face. He nodded silently. Phoebe noticed our exchange, and waved her hand in front of our faces. "Yoohoo? I'm still here. Did you hear me? Now I know how you guys feel." She chuckled softly to herself.

I smiled uncertainly at Phoebe. "I guess I am one. Now what?"

Kevin sighed. "Can you use any of your...err, her powers?"

I shrugged. "I dunno. I didn't bother to try, after I found out Phoebe lost hers when we landed back there. And I didn't think trying my electrical power while in the ocean was the best idea." Phoebe grinned at me. Kevin smiled softly, as if wrestling with an inner turmoil. I gazed at Kevin with questioning eyes. He looked away from me, showing me that I shouldn't pry. To my surprise, I could instinctively feel Kevin's 'shields' erect around his presence.

Phoebe sat there, frustrated. "Damn. I wish I could get us back. Kevin, can you teleport us back to the Manor?"

Kevin looked doubtful, his eyes glinting puzzlement. "I dunno? I've never tried teleporting 2 people myself."

I stood up, wiping the sand off my damp jeans. "I'll try to teleport."

Phoebe looked up at me, and asked, "Are you sure, Prue?"

I nodded affirmatively. I started to concentrate, and hesitated for a second. Phoebe jumped in, "Oh..just picture a place you want to go, and want to be there at the same time. Visualize yourself there."

"Okay." I visualized the Kitchen. Piper would be most likely there at this time of night. I strained with my will, and heart, to be there. A static crackling could be heard audibly that began to form around me. It engulfed me into thin air, and I ended up in the Kitchen of the Manor, and blinked stupidly.

Piper screamed flinging a pan in the air, nearly hitting me with it.

"Whoa Prue!!! Where did you come from!? AND why are you home SO late?"

I blinked at Piper's startled pose, and smiled softly. "Oh. It worked."

Piper looked askance at me, and moved around the center island. "What....worked, Prue? That you're just now a Tomorrow Person? ...and where's Phoebe?"

Two simulaneous bursts of static light materialized into the kitchen, by me. Kevin and Phoebe smiled uncertainly.

"Phoebe?? Kevin? What's going on? Is there something you want to tell me?"

Phoebe silently holds a fist up, and generates an electrical sphere engulfing her hand.

Piper stared at Phoebe's fist. Her face began with one of puzzlement, then slowly realization dawned. "Your powers got switched."

I nodded.

"So, what happened?"

Phoebe spoke first. "Well...Prue and I were talking out in the back alley, and there was a warlock, who spoke with us, and cast a spell on us. Prue couldn't even harm him with her power. I had no other thought than to vanish, but... I guess I was too late." She looked a little crestfallen.

Piper came over to Phoebe and gave her an arm over the shoulder, "It's Okay, Pheebs. You did the best you could."

"Dammit, Phoebe. Why did you have to do this? Get us in trouble again!?", was my vehement outburst. I slammed my hands onto the kitchen island's counter. Things on the counter began to rattle, and hover. Piper stood stunned, staring at me. Kevin felt very uncomfortable, and as if unsure what to do at that moment, but resolutely mindtouched me.

[ Prue. Stop this. Calm down! ] He pled with a distressed expression on his face.

[NO!!! I will NOT calm DOWN! ], was my mindshout, which made Kevin stagger back, as if I punched him in the face. Meanwhile, the telekinetic chaos was growing dangerous, and more chaotic. Things flew around, and shattered into the walls. A random pot flew toward Kevin, and smashed him unconcious.

Kevin collapsed onto the floor. Phoebe shouted, "PRUE!! STOP!" Piper screamed in a shrill voice, "Oh my God! Oh My God!" My anger seemed to go on forever, and seemed to mount higher and higher.

Piper ducked a few more flying objects, and ran over to Phoebe's side and whispered. "Use her power to knock her out. Hurry, Phoebe!"

Phoebe looked vexed, and torn, "But Piper? I can't.. It's my sister!"

Piper looked at her with fright. "It's either this, or get killed by a random flying object."

At that moment, a few knives started floating in the air. Phoebe was decided by the sight of that, and held out her palm. She focused on her hand, and was rewarded by an electrical sphere that glowed, crackling. She threw it, sending me flying backwards against the Kitchen table, stunned. Every one of the objects clattered, or shattered onto the ground. They rushed over to me, worried.

After a few minutes I groaned softly, placing my hand on my forehead, which was throbbing. "Ohhh...what hit me?"

Phoebe sighed. "I'm sorry. You were out of control."

"Oh. Oh! Anyone hurt..?" They shook their heads. "Not seriously, it doesn't seem."

"Who was hurt?" I happened to glance down on the floor, at Kevin's unconcious form. "Oh my god!! Did I do that? I'm so sorry!" I looked away in shame.

Phoebe was the one, who surprised me by encircling my shoulders with an arm. "It's okay, Prue. What were you so angry about?"

I was still not looking at either of my sisters, with red tinging my cheeks. I quietly spoke, "I was mad at Phoebe. She's so free. I guess I was jealous, and was resenting it. I ...I ... I guess I am not so sure about that limitation that Phoebe has...had."

Phoebe's face lit up with understanding. "The no kill thing."

I nodded mutely. "T-that's..not all. I was starting to get second thoughts that we were really the Charmed Ones...when it should count."

Piper stepped in, "But, how could we not be? The only way we couldn't be, would be if one of us is dead. We're all here, baby."

Kevin groaned suddenly, slowly sitting up. Phoebe rushed to his side, and helped him stand up, albiet groggily. "Kevin...are you okay?"

"I'll be fine...", was his quiet reply.

"Kevin..I'm.. I'm really sorry about this. I don't deserve to be a Tomorrow Person.", was my statement, which came to a surprise to me.

Kevin chuckled softly, then his laughter turned louder. "You are a perfect Tomorrow Person. We all are human, Prue. We feel, we think, we bleed."

His words soothed my resentment, and anger. He was right. Phoebe was still her, even if she couldn't do some stuff as she could before.

"I guess you guys are right." My resolve firmed to figure out how to switch our powers back.

I suggested, "We should look in the Book of Shadows, and see if we can find a solution."

Phoebe raised a finger in the air, volunteering, "I'll get it! Oh. Wait."

I opened my mouth for a second, in thought. "Right. It's quicker this way." I vanished with a loud implosion. I reappeared in the attic, grabbed the book, and remateralized back in the Kitchen.

"Oh good. Let's see what's going on, shall we, sisters?", spoke up my sister Piper with a determined glance.

I flipped open the book, and skimmed through the pages, until Phoebe stopped me, by shouting, "That's him!"

I peered at the entry. Yes. It was him. He looked the same, down to the color of his cloak. Kevin and Piper crowded closer to gaze at the writing.

"Latimas, A warlock-demon who devours the energy and power of a witch, casts a spell on them, to switch their power and energy to be imbibed into him, at his whim, but he has to be within 5 feet of his target."

I continued reading out loud.

"The spell to vanquish Latimas, is to find one with the Powers of Tomorrow, and the Charmed Ones. The chant is written below."

Phoebe remarked, "Wow. You think our ancestors knew about the Tomorrow People?" Piper shrugged. "Who knows. They did have premonition. Anyways.. what's the spell?"

I looked closer at the Entry. "Oh. It needs the Power of Three, plus the Power of Tomorrow who possesses the power to magnify...which I'm guessing is Kevin."

A word was uttered from Phoebe's lips. "Oh."

***********Part 6 & Conclusion***********

"Oh boy." Piper stated flatly. I nodded mutely, and sighed softly, resting my hands on the outside edges of the Book. Phoebe tapped her chin with a finger, lost in thought. Kevin gazed at each of us, worried.

Piper scooped up the Book of Shadows into her hands, and read it again. Her determined expression betrayed nothing, except to figure out what was going on. She read every word, tracing them with a finger, until she came to a certain point in the entry. She then stabbed a long nailed finger at the Book's page.

"Oh, we missed something, you guys!" Her voice triumphant, and a grin playing on her face.

Kevin asked Piper in a curious tone, his body leaning forward. "What did we miss?"

She recited from the area that her finger had stopped. "According to this... If we do vanquish him, all spells he did will be undone. *IF* any witches he stole the powers from, are still alive."

Hope flared inside of me, then died a moment later as I thought of something. "I doubt many of them still are. I think we may have been just lucky."

Piper spoke in an optimistic tone. "It doesn't mean that this demon ALWAYS kills the witches. He may enjoy that they live their lives as a mortal."

I reluctantly concurred with Piper. Maybe they did just live out their lives as a mortal afterwards. It was difficult to know. Wasn't it so bad for them? Not having to worry about Warlocks or Demons anymore? I shook that train of thought out of my mind. I looked at Phoebe with a short nod.

Phoebe nodded briskly, and said, "Okay. Let's memorize the spell, and find Latimas."

Back in a dimly lit cavern underground, a redskinned warlock-demon paced back and forth, muttering to himself. The air was dry with dust, and scented heavily with the power of evil.

"How could I forget that the youngest sister could teleport! It's only a minor snag in my plans, but I just have to wait until they reach the manor again, to launch my attack. I will plan my attack on the oldest sister first. She is the most vulnerable. Her electrical attacks were pitiful. Only worthy of the lowest demon caliber."

He cackled darkly. His clawed hands rubbed together, as if he were enjoying some private thought. A glimmer caught his eye, from a mirror hanging on a smooth hewed out crevice in the wall. His grin broadened as an image showed the three sisters in the Kitchen apparently conversing. "Ah! They're back. Now is the time to put my plan in action!" He vanished with a shimmer.

Back at the Manor, the four of us were busy memorizing the spell. Kevin had some hesitations on learning it, for his obvious reasons. I knew that it was necessary, but something inside me began to hesitate too, for some reason.

"Okay. Everyone remember it? Kevin, you can help us but you don't need to, other..than your power. The three of us have to do this." I stated with determination flaring in my eyes.

Kevin's eyes looked troubled, but he nodded. "I understand." I took a deep breath, and hoped everything would be okay.

The front doors splintered open, with glass shattering. I winced visibly at that sound. "Damn. I wish they'd learn to at least appear inside the Manor, not break down the door... Do you know how long it's going to take to repair that, Phoebe?!"

Phoebe looked flustered for a moment, then shrugged, "Worry about that later. Comes with the job."

A grim smile flitted across my face. Yep. They usually were predictable.

Kevin gazed oddly at me, as if I had echoed my thought. Well, maybe I did. It didn't matter, since everything was gonna come to a finish soon, I hoped.

Piper urged us along with frantic motions. "Before he breaks anything else!"

We rushed toward the Front Hall. We kept Kevin behind us, to not tip off Latimas, that there were others. Latimas smiled mischievously, as if this was all child's play to him, and sharp tufts of teeth were showing. His hand was aloft, in the air, as if playing with an imaginary electrical sphere. He chuckled softly, as his eyes glowed intensely.

"Ah, now I've got you, witches! Now is the time to gain my power!"

"Not yet, I don't think so, Latimas!", was Phoebe's bold remark.

"Oh, what a fiesty witch you are! I will have you second. I want the oldest one first."

I stood there silently, adopting a battle stance, that I hoped was convincing. I had qualms in my stomach whether I could actually kill. That thought surprised me. I was slowly realizing that Phoebe was indeed right. I tried to concentrate a telekinetic blast, to hit Latimas. As hard as I tried, I couldn't form the thoughts. I couldn't form the energy to kill Latimas. I started trembling softly. "How can this be?", was my whispered comment, which Kevin only heard.

[ It's because you're like me. A Tomorrow Person. ], was a whispered thought inside my mind, who I identified as Kevin. I groaned silently.

[ Kevin, Then how can we kill Latimas, if we have two tomorrow people here? ], was my fired reply.

[ Prue, I have no idea. The spell did not say "I vanquish thee,", and all that. Maybe it's just the wording? ]

[ Maybe so. ]

I ceased my telepathic conversation with Kevin in an instant. I leaned over to Phoebe, and whispered. "Try unleashing my power, at least as much as you can. I want you to slow him down."

Latimas began to grow suspicious. "What are you doing? Stalling for time? No matter. I'm going to steal your power now."

He walked closer. His hand outreached, closing into a fist, his voice chanting softly.

I whispered, "Quick. Now!"

The three of us began chanting, with the subtle power of Kevin's new ability magnifying ours. I slowly recognized the power moving inbetween our bond, the bond as sisters, and the bonds of friendship.

"Latimas, your powers not,
Witches stolen, powers return,
Energy stolen from death,
Return thou, from whence came!"

We chanted it twice, as we saw the horror in his eyes. "What? Another Tomorrow Person? To fulfill my death prophecy?! NO!!! I will NOT Die!"

Flames began to encircle Latimas, creeping up the sides, and licking the sides, burning so brightly, they became almost white. He started screaming in agony, and could tolerate no more, and a whoosh of flames engulfed him to ashes.

Phoebe and I staggered, collapsing to the floor. Kevin knelt between us. "You okay? It's wierd. I don't feel any different."

The moment Phoebe and I touched hands, we vanished into a static burst of light and noise, that lengthened, and pulsed softly. A light encircled both of our auras, and began to pulse, slowly, then faster, forming a more pure hue.

Kevin stared at the spectacle of lights, and knew something was happening.

I felt like I was being torn apart, and reassembled together, into one whole being. My mind, my body, felt like it was in two places at one time, for a moment, but it felt like eons on eons. My mind was screaming not in agony, but in triumph and belonging.

After what seemed like an indiscernable time, we finally reappeared, as if flung apart slightly.

I looked down at myself, and patted my clothes. "Uh... did it work?"

Phoebe grinned like a cheshire cat. "Yep! I can hear the others!"

"Oh. I'm so glad. ... Phoebe... " I sighed softly.

"Yeah?"
