DEDICATION OF

 LUKE ANDRE LE LIEVRE

Introduction

We are here today to say that Luke Andre Le Lievre is loved and wanted. He is no accident. He is part of Gods plan. We give thanks to God for his birth and celebrate his life as from God with all its potential and possibility.

We gather today to dedicate Luke. We gather to commit ourselves as friends and family to being part of a community that provides an environment of nurture and growth for Luke.

We are here to follow the example of Jesus, who was himself dedicated to God as a baby and later as an adult took children in his arms and blessed them. We want to ask Gods blessing on Luke, Mark and Philippa.

Reading

Luke 18: 15-17

Parents commitment

Luke as your parents we dedicate you to God and pray for his support as together we move forward as a united family. We pray that Gods protection surrounds you as you grow and through God we are made aware of  your physical emotional and spiritual needs.

We will enjoy the good times ahead and never take the precious time we spend with you for granted. We will always love you and cherish you.

We will show you right from wrong, truth from lie. To be just, honest and loving.

This we promise you.

Godparents commitment

Luke, as your Godparents, we will encourage and assist your parents in teaching you right from wrong. Truth from lie. Forgiveness not bitterness and mercy not revenge.

This we promise you.

Lighting of candles

1st by his parents Mark & Philippa.

2nd by his God Parents, Victor And Susan Storey.

3rd by his Nana, Brenda Baird.

Anointing

This oil is a sign of the Holy Spirit, the presence of God, who is the breath of life and who brings new life in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord. See how much God loves us, that we should be called the children of god.

Blessing

Luke May God bless you with a body that is strong and healthy, a mind that is keen and inquiring and a personality that is rich, helpful and forgiving.

And for Philippa, Mark, family, friends in the promises and hopes we have expressed.

May God bless us and keep us faithful.

May God’s face shine upon us and be gracious to us, may God turn his face to us and give us peace.

Amen.
