A Steppe Society
Welcome one and all to this new page discussing the western Asiatic steppe societies. This page will feature bits from various archaeological journals, books in foreign languages and sundry other bits. While my personal interest is in the Khazars, I will include information on Avars, Magyars, Scythians, and others. I actually want to stay away from the subject of the Mongols. There is a significant body of knowledge in English about the Mongols. Finding out about these other groups requires a bit more digging.
