Many people when typing in numbers don't want to have to take the time to figure out where the commas should go in larger numbers. Here is a Javascript application that will add commas and a currency symbol to numbers typed in the box. This would also come in handy for an online store if you sell expensive things (like penguin sculptures!). Click on the hyperlink at the bottom to go back to the Penguin World main page or back to the Making a Penguin Site menu.

"The Comma-izer"

This JavaScript adds commas in the proper places. The script was originally developed to convert data in the format nnnn, nnnn., or nnnn.nn into a proper currency (US) amount. It does no error checking since the data used was already 'clean.' (So it's easy to break.) Feel free to adapt it for your purposes.
