Harvey's Original Juke Box.
Harvey Smith is a Boston-based singer/songwriter who is one of the first
performers to give the creator of this site an opportunity to back him up on guitar as part of
a duo unknown as
The Obvious Alternative. At Harvey's web site you can listen or download some of his inspiring songs.

This is the web page of Boston-based band
Segue, an organization the folks here at SoundGasm are damn glad to have had a part
of. Segue has some audio files available for download and some info on current
events.

The Gas Tank Orchestra is a local New Orleans phenomenon. Building woodwind, string, and percussion instruments from automobile gas tanks this ensemble creates a truly peculiar and haunting sound. The site serves as an introduction to the band, where some of their music may be sampled and gigging information obtained. Approach with a broad ear.

Tzadik Records is a label founded by jazz luminary John Zorn. The Tzadik label produces twentieth century music and other unearthly variaties of very strange music, and their web site is a cool information source and e-store. Be sure to check out their Radical Jewish Culture section...

This is not Brian Eno's web page, but rather the web site of programmer David Ray who has created a fun little page featuring Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt's 'Oblique Strategies' cards. The cards are meant to act like little fortune telling devices that give you random advice when you're in a jam.

This will take you to Jackpot Recording studio of Portland, and to the home of Tape Op magazine, a highly informative
independent zine dedicated to the philosophy of creative recording.

This composer has a beautiful site dedicated to Italian writer Primo Levi, among
other interesting things. Highly recommended.

The Art Guys
The Art Guys are two artists from Houston, Texas. They show their art throughout the country and share their very unique brand of conceptual art making and thought/action stimulation. I had the good fortune to hear them speak at Tulane University where they diplayed their talent for comedy and absurdist surrealism while showing off their Suits.

While most of the press is feeding us one side of the story on Nato's bombing of Yugoslavia, or financial strife in Indonesia, surf on down to this anarchist news and information site where people from around the globe email and post reports on the state of the world from another point of view.

This link will deliver you to a section of the NASA web site which is dedicated
to the time capsule on Voyager. You can hear and see some of the things Carl
Sagan and a team of jolly astronomers thought would be cool for people of the

This is a link to www.arachnoid.com, Paul Lutus' home page. Lotus is the maker of a very fine HTML editor called Arachnophilia, which I use to make this site. He seems to be the originator of a notion he has dubbed Careware, which encourages people to be good and positive to each other as a means for replacing financial reward. |
This link will take you the Teoria home page, a site that has bilingual music theory education tools.

This link will deliver you to
Slur's Things Of The Non. At this site you can download a multi-track music-tutoring tool called FretPet, find programming tools, and read about the latest things on Slur's mind.
