For the past few years I have been
photographing the festival. This year I set up my own website, and have
been amazed at the response that I have had -(from each wedding that I
do, I put about a dozen of the photographs on my site)-friends and relatives
from all around the world have been able to access them, and two couples
had a sneak peak at their wedding photos whilst still on honeymoon! When
asked to photograph this year's festival the thought occured to me that
a Festival website could be fun- so here it is.
As a local worthy remarked -"where's the catch?" -hopefully there isn't
one. The website is situated on the Fortunecity server in Phoenix, Arizona--this
is free to use -in return you have to put up with the banner adverts (look
upon it as Channel 4). The address is enormously long, so using Monolith
I have registered the shorter address (free-run by volunteers) The Java
powered chatroom software and server(in California) are again an advert
sponsored facility.
Because the site has been set up this way I have no need to seek sponsorship, and
it can stay online for the forseeable future.I would like to see it grow
organically into a community resource - I'll need your help for it to progress
-any suggestions and contributions very welcome. In the next few weeks
there will be an online display of festival photos, and I hope to add a
Village noticeboard (anything from lost cats to plants for sale),critical
reviews, poetry corner, gallery for local artists (gallery for kids too?),local
business directory and anything else you fancy.....the ball is now in your
court-e-mail me with your suggestions and contributions.Kind regards--Martin
