I Saw You Today...

I looked around me today, and I saw you there.

I saw you in the rising sun that stretches its loving

fingers over the land.

In the forest, I saw your hand at work in the gentle 

beauty I found there.

I felt the softness of your cheek

when I laid my hand against the petals of a rose.

I heard the whisper of your voice come to me 

on the soft sigh of the wind.

I saw the laughter in your eyes smile upon me 

in the glittering stars in the night sky.

I stood on a hilltop, feeling alone and afraid,

and then I looked around, and I saw you there.

Then I felt your hand take mine, and I looked down.

I saw your eyes, and felt your love

as I gazed upon the face of my child.

And then I heard your voice whispering to me...

and I knew that you were there, 

and I knew that you would never leave me.

I knew that to find you, all I needed was to look around me,

and I would find you.

I love you.
