Nightmares

Nightmares I usually have are of being chased. Most of the time, I can't move fast enough. Often, to offset this, I can jump bouncily, much like a kangaroo. (It seems like only the ground is slowing me down, as if it's sticky.) Also, I usually realize that I'm in a dream after a little bit. Then, I can manipulate the dream to where it is supposed to end up happily, such as me having superhuman powers (flight, laser eye-beams, etc.) and/or the villain getting crushed by humorous cartoon boulders. However, this doesn't always make the dream happy and okay--in fact, most of the time it doesn't help at all. When I wake up, I lie and stare at the ceiling, maybe turn on the radio, so that the tension brought on by the dream dissipates.

Nightmares I have can be just physically terrifying dreams (such as those about being chased) or more psychologically frightening dreams (like losing a loved one). It's interesting, because the psychological pain doesn't affect me in the dreams at all. In real life, it would probably be called shock, but it's a dream, and personally, I'm not going to dream that I'm in shock :)
