The steak sits on the plate
it looks sweet and juicy
you haven't eaten in weeks
your mouth waters at
the anticipated taste
You cut a piece off
eyes closed
and take a bite
Shock
disgusting taste
open your eyes
and see a maggot infested
green steak
Why were you so blinded
by hunger and want?
