Lying on the forest floor
gazing at the shadowed sky
through the canopied trees
I saw an eagle
The eagle circles overhead
watching and analyzing
sensing I am not intimidated
The eagle-
with his white regal head
and strong feathered legs
was not afraid of my presence
He landed at my side
stood there watching
in silence
I could not move
a great amount of power and love emanated
from this great bird
Shall I capture him and keep
him in a cage?
No, I will care for him,
as long as he returns to me.
