Lampshades

Now, this one's not for the easily aggravated...  Which means, my husband would be much happier if I had never attempted it.

INSTRUCTIONS:

The shade is made of legal size paper (these are large lamps).  Each shade used six sheets folded into pleats 1 cm wide.  This took several hours...  The pictures I printed...  you could use fancy paper or wrapping paper.
The top ring...  I used two heavy plastic margarine lids.  Keep the ring, and a strip across the center, cut out the sides.  Test this on your lamp for at least an hour to make sure they don't melt.
The bottom rings are large wooden sewing hoops.
so...  Fold  your paper.  Plug in your glue gun.  Start gluing on the flat side of the pleat, and only glue about two pleats at a time...  As you finish each sheet, glue the seems together on the fold.  When you have all sheets attached, flip the lampshade upside down and insert bottom ring.  Push it in as far as you can, without losing your pleats...  Glue in place.  That's it...  You're done.
This project takes at least a full day.  Send the kids to grandma's.
