The first sound you hear from the room alerts you to the man standing in front of the fireplace. The woman you just met was right, you can't miss him, dressed in white with white hair, he gazes at the fire in front of him. He doesn't notice you, so you take the time to look around.

You enter a large room with a stone and wood floor and large windows that seem much smaller from the outside. The wood in the middle is laid out in a beautiful design and somehow seems to fit with the smooth gray stone of the floor edging.

Several pictures hang on he walls between the windows.

A few plants are around the windows and four very large, soft looking sofas and what must be ten chairs that look like they could be recliners, are arranged around the room. At the far end, a stone fireplace is surrounded by large windows. Near the windows, a rocking horse waits to be ridden. In front of the fire are large pillows that look very comfortable.

A figure standing in front of the fire turns, hearing you enter.

Oh! A visitor? Come over here and look at this...

Without hesitation, the man moves you over to the fireplace staring again into the frosty flames.

A real ice fire... It emits cold air, has motion and yet doesn't melt. Fascinating!

Suddenly putting his hand to his head, the man turns a wide-eyed look at you.

Where are my manners? My name is Emmett Brown, Doc to my friends, which confuses their new holographic Doctor on many occasions. I suppose I'll have to go by Doc Brown now...

He looks around the room, taking in everything there is to see.

Things certainly have changed since the last time I saw Laura... She goes by Mirrani now, and everyone living here refers to her as 'the Writer.' Some things don't change, she never did like her name. But this castle she built is incredible! I almost feel like moving in myself! I wonder if she has room for Einie and myself...

The woman you met outside enters through what seems to be the window.

There's always room in Castle for you, Doc.

Again, the man puts a hand to his head and stares wide-eyed at the wall the woman just walked through. She giggles.

Great scott!

That's another reason for having a magical castle, I can have it do anything, even give us a front porch like the one we had up in Virginia. You get out there and it looks like the outside of the castle grounds, turn back and look at the castle- poof! it's a house. Take a few steps away, look back- poof! it's a castle. Most of the time we come back inside through the Sunroom, but I thought you'd enjoy that demonstration.

She turns to you and smiles.

I suppose now would be a good time to introduce you to the Doc, properly. This is Doc Brown, he's visiting us for a while, though I think he might end up staying.

She smiles at him warmly.

I was one of the first to meet this young lady. It was a few years ago... Before she met Derg and Zoy, I believe...

Ah, but you stayed for a while after they arrived. I started working on this place when I met Derg and Zoy, so you knew of the idea at least...

The man nods.

If I recall correctly... The collection of us became friends... And after finding a DOS game called Castle, you and the others began renaming the rooms in the game after rooms you would have in your own castle. At one point you even had a floor plan.

Which is what Castle has become. As we gained more people, we added more rooms to the floor plan and when we gained access to the net, we started building and moved in.

She turns to you with an apologetic smile.

But I'm sure you've heard enough of our babble. Step outside for a minute.

She smiles and leads you to the window that she entered through, which starts to look more and more like a glass door the closer you get to it.

Go on, there's nothing terrible on the other side... The air will warm you up a bit, that fire gets cold.
