Duncan heard it plain as day, 'they're not people', so the only thing he could figure out was that they must be some kind of demon spawns. He took a vow then and there that his army would rid the world of these demon spawns who had the audacity to look like people. Also he saw where they had tied up Kaleb like some animal. In fact the leather straps were still tied about his neck. He went straight to his army and ordered them into the valley. They were not to leave any of the demon spawns alive in the valley.

Fortunately for the Knot People of the valley, Duncan was only an army commander because he was a distant cousin in the royal family. His army marched into the valley, as the weather cleared, beating their drums and blowing their horns. The people of the valley had been warned by the elders that the end of life as they knew it was coming. So as the army marched in, the people scattered to the four winds. And while Duncan claimed a complete victory over the demons, almost none of the Knot People Clan were actually killed.

Alas, the Knot People Clan of the Great Valley was no more. However, their legacy lived on as they spread their knowledge throughout to the four winds. When you see paintings of ancient kings and pharaohs with beautifully braided hair and beards, think of the Knot people. When you see a mile-marker along a highway, think of Herco as he placed his millstone along the road from his brothers house to his own. When jewelry is unearthed by archaeologist with strange knots tied in them, remember the Knot People. The next time you see a clock, or wonder why there are twenty-four hours in a day, think of the Knot People. When you see a business man wearing a tie think of Kaleb who proudly wore his Knot name for the rest of his life in respect for the Knot People.

Then ask yourself if there are still secret code knotters sending messages and waiting for their chance to take control again.
