Now I am Gone
At nine he was a thief, by twelve he had quit.
At thirteen he was a preacher, by fifteen
he had quit.
At sixteen he was an alcoholic, by eighteen
he had quit.
At nineteen he was a soldier,by twenty one
he had quit.
At twenty four he was a poet, singer, song
writer, by twenty seven he had quit.
At thirty he was a man lost in technology,
by thirty five he was found.
At forty he was a visionary, by forty five
the vision had changed.
At fifty he was a sage, at fifty five the
sage was bitter.
At sixty he was an explorer,by seventy he
was dead.
In his life he loved, lost, loved and lost
and still found love again.
With his ears he heard the music in life,
and found life in the music.
With his eyes he saw evil that should not be seen, he saw beauty
that could not be seen, and turned a blind eye to what he would not see.
His epitaph read, I was here,
now I am gone....from here.
