Loving Memory"

Me and my Grandmother
On Monday, August 11,
1997, my Grandmother passed away.
Nanny was born to George
Lawrence Swinemar his wife Jenneth Eldora
(Wentzell). She
grew up with 11 brothers and sisters.
When Nanny was a young
girl, her mother passed away, and she left
school to help raise her
siblings. This was not an easy task, as there
were so many of them to
tend to.
On March 1, 1935, she
met and married James Samuel Hughes,
my Grandfather.
From their short marriage (due to the sudden death
of my Grandfather) came
8 children. One of them, a twin, was stillborn.
The family eventually
moved to Truro, Col. Co., Nova Scotia and settled.
My Grandmother watched
her children grow and start families of their
own. She doted on
each and everyone of her grandchildren and
greatgrandchildren in
a way that was special to each of them.
Our hearts ache at the
loss of this special lady. The void left behind
can never be filled.
Nanny, know that you were
loved very deeply and that we miss you
so much. May God
watch over you and keep you safe in his arms
forever.
