Re: Your work!
Dear Nick
Thankyou for your message. Alas I am the same person who worked with John
S.....I grew up in Sydney and miss my frequent swims at Bondi! I am happy
to answer your questions but I am currently pressed for time.
Towards
the end of the year I am hoping to be less busy and might be able to have
a go at replying to some questions.
Regards
Peter

Dear Mr Cobbin,
Hi/G'day from Australia!
And congratulations on a great job on the Yellow Submarine Remixes. A mammoth
task which has produced startling results!
If you don't mind, I have an idea I would like to canvass with you. I and
several of my friends are part of an informal Beatles discussion group and
have a few questions we would like to ask you in direct relation to some of
the details of the Yellow Sub remixes. (N.B. This is a private group and we
are definitely not aligned with any sort of professional publication (read:
we are not the press.....:). We are just fans who wondered if we might pick
your brain over a few technical details of the task of remixing the Fabs.
If you feel you might be able to answer a few questions, time permitting of
course, via email, we would be very grateful.
I hope to hear soon, and once again, congratulations on an amazing remix of
those fabulous Beatles tracks. It must have been a thrill for you to be able
to work on them.
Best Regards,
cj (Nick)
Bondi,
Sydney Australia
(btw are you the same guy who worked with John Shuman etc back here in OZ?)
Peter
Cobbin, the remix engineer of the Yellow Submarine mixes, kindly responds
to a request for a mini interview of sorts. So get your questions in...:)
It
could also be a good opportunity to ask about specific and significant Beatles
musical landmarks on the master tapes. All up, a good opportunity to either
sycophantically praise/schmooze or else grill and flame a true blue real
mcCoy front line player in the Beatles Yellow Sub saga!!
Email
your questions for Pete here
and I'll post them as I get them...
