During the gulf war, in 1991, I was living in Eilat (yeah, that's also my last name), on the red sea. In the Tel Aviv area, that was hit by a few skad missiles, there was panic. People were leaving in masses, to go to areas that were much less likely to be hit, like Jerusalem or Eilat. The ones that stayed were like living dead : their bodies where alive, but anxiety and fear have killed their spirits. Is that better than the opposite, the body is dead and the spirit's alive ?
