The cell Offspring : All I Wanr
C5-THE NEW CORVETTE--the sound is from a McLaren F1. Both are waaaaay too expensive for you to ever buy, you know who you are.
The cell is much like the modern car. You ask how? All cells contain the basic components:

Interesting, huh? Let me explain.
The nucleus is the brain of the cell, as is the driver. The endoplasmic reticulum carries proteins throughout the cell to be used. The fuel line carried fuel to the engine to be used. The ribosomes create proteins from the stuff floating around in the cell. The fuel injectors mix air with the fuel to allow combustion. It's a stretch but hey, it works. Golgi bodies package and store materials in the cell. Oil and coolant tanks do the same, except they don't package. Lysosomes are the self destruct button of the cell. My car has a self destruct button, doesn't yours? Mitochondria are the little buggers responsible for giving the cell the energy it needs. Obviously the engine is it's counterpart. Vacuoles are large sacs that hold fluid or food. Fuel tanks do about the same thing. |
