Those silly humans act so weird. Where do they get it? Well for we'll start at the nervous system.

There are two main parts; the Central Nervous System (CNS), and the Periferal Nervous system (PNS) The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The PNS includes everything else (duh). Signals happen due to a slight change in electrical charge. The basic part of the nervouse system is the neuron.

The large blue section is the cell body. The dark blue spot is the nucleus. The branches are dendrites. The long branch is the axon. The pink clobs are Schwann cells. The spaces inbetween them are nodes of Ranvier. The braches off of the axon are terminal branches. The red spots are synaptic knobs. (I made this picture myself)

The Schwann cells produce a myelin sheath. This sheath insulates against electricity causeing the charge to jump along the nodes of Ranvier.

Electrical charges are sent along because of the potassium sodium pump. when resting the charge on the outside of the axon is positive because of the increase of sodium ions. There is an increase because the cell membrane actively transports them out. Potassium is allowed to reach equilibrian though. When a signal is being sent, the membrane allows sodium to rush in, causing a reverse in polarity. This reversal travels along like a wave. When it reaches a knob the message is transfered into a chemical one. Neurotransmitters travel to the connecting neuron (a VERY short distance).

The brain. The part of the central nervous system in the skull. There are four main parts:

Cerebrum- 2 hemispheres- function as intellectual and emotional processing.

Cerebellum- At the rear of the brain. Processes sensory information to provide correct instructions for smooth balance and movement.

Brain stem- Connects the cerebrum and the spinal cord. It controls automatic behavior necessary for survival. Contains the midbrain, pons, and medulla oblengota.

Diencephalon- Central core of the brain. It regulates hormonal output, body temp, ect. Contains hypothalamus, thalamus, and epithalamus.

The cerebrum has five lobes. Frontal in the front, parietal in the upper center, occipital in the rear, temporal below the parietal and behind the frontal, and the insula in the center of the cerebrum.

Most of the thinking goes on in the cerebrum. Some say a humans character is the reflection of its experiences. It would seem it is a reflection of its early experiences. As a child grows the brain grows at an enourmous rate. The connection going on in the brain leave a lasting impact on its character.

Some say dreams are subconscious signs. Others say they are the minds wastebasket. But there are dreams that are inspiration. No person has ever seen anyone else's dream.
