haste & remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all people. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud & aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater & lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a great possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virture there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors & aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. (Author: Max Ehrmann)

AFTER A WHILE by Veronica S. Shoffstall After a while, you learn the subtle difference Between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning And company doesn't mean security And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts And presents aren't promises And you begin to accept your defeats With your head and your eyes open With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child And learn to build all your roads on today Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans And futures have a way of falling down in midflight And after a while you learn That even sunshine burns if you get too much So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers And you learn that you really can endure That you really are strong And you really do have worth And you learn and learn...... With every goodbye, you learn. Hope is not pretending that troubles don't exist. It is the trust that they will not last forever, that hurts will be healed and difficulties overcome. It is faith - that a source of strength and renewal lies within, to lead us through the darkness into the sunshine.

Don't walk in front me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives. (Albert Schweitzer) Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. (Mark Twain) I love the finer things in life: the sophistication of natural class, the beauty of elegance, the passion of life, the intensity of lust, the chaos of love and the warmth of release. (Author Unknown) Talk to me and I listen Listen to me and I grow Challenge me and I respond Laugh with me and I live Be with with me and I grow. (Author Uknown) How do we go out and face the world is the same question as how do we pick our friends? Dearly, like gems, carefully like flowers. The moments we remember best stay with us like a daisy-chain; like a necklace made of flowers, worn with familiarity and love, and close to the heart. We arrange them until they become something beautiful and walk out into the world holding hands. (Author Unknown) I haven't seen you in a while, yet often I imagine all your expressions. I haven't spoken to you recently, but many times I hear your thoughts. Good friends must not always be together. It is a feeling of oneness when distant that proves a lasting friendship. by Susan Polis Shutz It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before....to test your limits....to break through barriers. And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful that the risk it took to blossom. (Anais Nin) Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same. (Flavia) When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. (Helen Keller) Faith is believing in something you don't really understand. Sympathy is your pain in my heart. (Adlai A. Esteb) Nothing changes if nothing changes. Those who look inside are awake, those who look outside are asleep. (Don Barragiano) God only gives us as much as he thinks we can handle. Sometimes I wish he didn't have such a high opinion of me! Sometimes you can be so heavenly minded that you're no earthly good. Happiness should be a way to travel, not a destination. (Zainto) Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present! (Zainto)
